Wow, really well done on this one, i haven't heard the story though, but if they were garroted, they must've pissed someone off. I love the color scheme of this, specifically the red on the left side for some reason keeps drawing my attention.

Bad trip nga naman yung na-prejudge yung painting mo dahil sa depiction ng GomBurZa. I do believe that people should at least try to understand the meaning of it. I see it as a nice tribute to the 3 priests.

A nice change from all the CG stuff.

Oooo, yes, I like this! The modelling and composition has this sort of diego rivera feel to it, though not entirely. Very classical and eerie. Ooo, yes, ooo. I love how they worked this sort of barbarism into their paintings. Makes me wonder how they reacted to it back in those days. I mean, in the painting, it has this calm stillness to it, like, complacent, like closure. The act has been completed and it doesn't change. You don't really feel pain or anguish, it's cold and dead, really removed from the event in question.

If I have to draw a contemporary comparison, let's take Mel Gibson's The Passion Of The Christ as an example. This was obviously a horrid event, lots of pain and suffering, I mean, we're talking about a very slow and painful way to die. When people see the crucifixion represented in paintings, it has this odd level of detachment to it, so people don't really see it as a ghastly thing, more like a graphic, like they only see the symbolism. They never see the pain involved, so they're of course throwing this huge stink over this movie because it portrays crucifixion as a really ghastly ordeal, you know? It's strange. Did they expect the final hours of Christ to be fraught with drunken merriment and prostitutes? Sometimes I wonder what people think, if they think at all.

This though, it's good, and the image is of higher quality than previous submissions. I like the texture and the warm colors, and the fabric is beautiful.

I actually have a version of Passion of Christ its also an Oil Painting it just too big that I don't know how can I take a pic of it. The title is " Cruxifiction" I'm going to try to upload it using a webcam, hopefully it'll come out good.

Yup, You got that right. I was actually kicked out of an Art Festival because of the deep subject of my artwork. People don't take time to find out about the story behind the painting. There's this one gallery here with a bunch of drunkards that don't even know how to draw, their just a bunch of rich people who were able to afford to take a Fine Arts course in college and they think their an Artist.

Yeah, it's all about the establishment unfortunately. Some really untalented people at the school I used to go to. Most of my classes were dragged to a halt by people who couldn't keep up with the professor, and of course in that case you only end up learning at the pace of the slowest student. I remember a course I took where it was basically Photoshop every day, the prof did a series of two-hour lectures on the different selection tools.
I managed to figure these out in about ten minutes and tried to work on my assignment, but every time I did he said "Now Aaron, please don't work on your assignment during the lecture, there'll be time for that later" and I say "Lon, I learned selection tools in 135 last semester, I think I've got it," and he says "no, you might miss something important here" so basically that week I mastered the art of napping while looking perfectly alert.

ha ha ha! I know what you mean, Even here at my work...They said if you train a person the right way he/she will be a good employee. You train them good, they still don't do what they supposed to do,You develop checklist for them, they don't use it...last Monday they almost kill all of our patients because of their neglect. Fortunately I have one Employee that smart enough that caught it.
