Description
This is my first ever attempt at light panting ! please give me tips!!and if you do light painting what sort of flash lights do you recommend ?
p.S this photo has not been post edited. only thing that has been changed is the watermark
everything is the same as it came out of my camera

awesome job man!
well, a few tips...
1. it doesnt matter what flashlight you use, be creative, try different types... led, bulb, laser , fire makes a good but tricky one aswell...
2. hold the light at more of an angle from the camera, because it leaves the aurora around the line
3. when painting bigger objects try different colour lights on different parts
4. red when left a long time goes orange, then yellow, then white.you casn get some really good effects using it
5. try multiple torches at once... leaves really nice streaks... ( more light writing than painting

ok....now this is my kind of photography....of course environment photography can be breathtaking...but dark, mysterious photography is what draws me in. Good job...the lighting angle that u chose was a good choice. The light painting is actual the first i've ever seen...so i don't know how u do it but how it wraps around it in wide "wips" was a good choice...i think if they were narrower(closer together) it would distract the viewer from the main "dragon" object. The blue tint is a good color choice but...i know this is a small maybe unaffecting factor...but the wood base kind of simpilizes the pic...if that makes sense...it looks good but maybe a different texture under the object would have made the pic have more depth/emotion...but aside from that it's an amazing picture....lol...shuting up now...again..lol

Light painting is the same as normal painting ... the only diffrence is that you can't see where your last stroke was and the slower you go the brighter the "paint"

I couldn't do much about the wood texture as it was the only thing i could put it on that was high enough for me to be able to take a low angle show xD

awww..i see..sounds like a touchy process to make a light streek..lol....and ya...no worries on the wood texture...it's still strong..lol..and one of my most favs!

Gorgeous. I've never done light painting myself, but from an amateur's point of view....I love the blue and the fact that it swirls around a beautiful statue, very nice. Great job!
