Why does the bus have a rear diff if it's not hooked up to anything?
π: 0 β©: 1
Debonis-Fox In reply to ben10-cmd [2017-09-09 20:01:02 +0000 UTC]
because it's still a solid axle? Β and it's beefy? Which would be required to hold up to the abuse from a post-apocalyptic wasteland. It could alsobe the axle the bus had originally.
Not to mention even if you did take the guts out of the diff, the axles themselves would come undone since the axle ends have C-clips that hold them in against the spider gears of the diff. Most would jsut take the diff cover off and weld the whole thing...but maybe a welder is scarce, so they just leave the diff Β as is and cut off the driveshaft.

Is that a standard option, or does it cost extra?

Fury Road had the war trucks that were designed for carrying cargo.Β The school bus looks like what you'd use for carrying passengers.Β I wonder if the padding on the school busses had broken down in MM:FR timeframe?
Of course Immortan Joe mightΒ have decided to use another form of leather to cover the seats.

Highly unlikely. It'll more likely be a beefy diesel guzzling V8 engine, like what every other wasteland vehicle uses. Its even got a massive Β supercharger+blower sticking out of the hood.....a V8 tends Β to be the most "prized" engine to have in the Wastelands.
