Does Hinamizawa have freudian type monsters? Does Hinamizawa have whacked out hospitals made of flesh and blood? Has Hinamizawa ever been in a perpetual state of night and rain where demons pop out of every orifice whilst a blood-curdling siren blares in the distance. Does Hinamizawa have haunted schools with deranged children reaching out to kill you? Does Hinamizawa have this:[link] Seriously, WTF is that?!
Most of all, does Hinamizawa have ANYTHING even remotely resembling the personified form of torture, rape, and evil that is this motherfucker:[link]
If you answered no to all these questions, then no Hinamizawa does not make Silent Hill look like Disneyworld.The only thing it has is a couple of crazy folks, and a parasite, which would make it more akin to Raccoon City. In fact I'm gonna take it a step further and add that with their psychological states, the kids from Higurashi wouldn't last 5 minutes in Silent Hill.
Nothing is gonna usurp the Town from Hell off of it's throne.

i respect your opinion, but for me the psychological horror that happens in higurashi still make me think that hinamizawa is superior then silent hill.

I don't understand why. Yes, I know that horror is subjective, and one thing scares someone won't necessarily scare another person. But saying that Hinamizawa is superior than Silent Hill is like saying The Joker is a scarier and more dangerous clown than Pennywise. Are you implying that there's NO psychological horror in Silent Hill? For crying out loud there's a room made in the shape of a uterus in one of the games. What the hell does Hinamizawa have that can top that? The Saiguden? Seriously. Also, I'm not seeing that much psychological horror. It's just your standard harem anime with friendship scenes and few girls that go nuts. It's cute but it isn't exactly going to keep me up at night. Personally, I was more disturbed by Meet the Pyro [link] and anything Cupcakes related [link]
