I'll make you a butterfly---------------------------------
It's 10 a clock in the morning and i'm finaly finished ^^
ahhh my autumn deviation.
I love autumn
do you? i simply adore the autumn colours, the carpet of leaves in the woods, the rainy days; sitting inside with a hot cup of coffee...i find it such a beautiful season. that's why i wanted to capture that beauty in this new thingy of mine. however i'm not realy sure about the colours in this one, i'm am pretty pleased of the overal portrait. oww and i see now that i like paiting fabrics and folds ^^ it's fun and relaxing ^^ anyways i hope you like it as much as i do ^^
used a ref for the girl of:
did in photoshop, about 10 hours, with my beloved wacom tablet ( i wuvs it so much :3)
Oww and yes i know it's a silly title

maar je moet beseffen dat mijn werk geen stock is...
Ik heb stock gebruikt als referentie voor dit werk, dus je moet eigenlijk de stock artiest crediten, mij niet.
Ik waardeer het dat je m'n werk mooi vond en wou gebruiken,
maar vraag je in het vervolg liever geen tekeningen van mij te gebruiken als stock

I've watched your work for some time now, but only recently joined deviant art (this morning actually XD) You're really talented, and to be completely honest you made me want to try digital painting for myself. ^^ Keep up the great work, I love every single piece in you gallery

aww you're too kind. Don't let anything stop you from trying digital art out youreself. That's how I got started aswell. There ere these artists I really looked up to, that I wanted to try it myself. And some years later, this is what I came up with.

I'll definitely work on my digital painting, it's a lot of fun and even if it is a lot of work, the result seems worth it ^^ Sure I'm not going very far... yet. I guess hard work is the key to any good result.

haha well then I should saythat once again, this was pure luck. My other hands don't look nearly as good, and I realy suck at painting nails. concerning the folds... well perhaps I could try to make a new tutorial. but there are already so much cloth tutorials. But whenever I find the time ,i'll make one for you. Besides, then you should teach me how to use textures like that. My paintings always look so flat ... don't like that.

I have been searching for a good folds tutorial for ages, I can't seem to find anything that tells you how to place lights and shadows to make it look real. I understand all the dynamics of folds but its the colouring of them and the shading of them that stumps me 
My texturing is pretty simple, I usually take my own texture stock photos from being out and about walking my dog. When I use them in photoshop I always set the layer to 'overlay' and tweak the opacity until it fits. Sometimes I alter the brightess and contrast. I then smudge a lot of the texture to soften it, especially around the edges of an object. You have to just be intuitive about doing that, just feel what's right for what you're painting. And a tip; Sometimes I use a texture for something that is completely removed from the subject I'm texturing. Like if I'm texturing moss, I'll often use fur texture or even grainy plaster texture instead of an actual moss texture
