butterfly...some thursday. i should've been studying, but I couldn't concentrate. there was a card next to me with butterflies on it, and I thought why not draw butterflies?
yes, much black and white lately...I might color this.
i showed it to my mother a few days before it was done. i'm often surprised at my mother. she's an artist. she kind of glanced at it, put it down on the table, and said, "pretty." i guess she was preoccupied, but i sort of felt hurt. even once it was done, she didn't look at it quite long enough.
maybe she didn't like it.
i can't see all of you, at your laptops and desktops and screens of all sizes, tapping at your black, white, and grey keyboards. i can't see your mouse click when you hit full-view, i can't see how long you stare at my picture once you've done so.
i just wish that maybe you'd look, just for a little bit longer.
just another second longer.

I love the alternating between colored (well, shaded) butterflies, and the blank white ones, its very... eye-pleasing? lolz, cant think of the right word :3 lovely work, this is absolutely amazing!
XD if i show my brother something (though never as intricate as this) he always gives me a thumbsup and goes back to doing whatever he was doing; most likely vid games....

Lol, i loved that avvie when I saw it, and just recently figured out that in order to change your avvie, you have to click the "save" button at the bottom of the screen.

That happens to me with my sister. I show her a drawing I'm pleased with, and she goes "eh." D':
But I really adore this piece! It's got so much going on, it's really beautiful. I like how there's a different design on each butterfly, it must have taken you ages. Well done!

I've already said this, but I'll say it again: I love your art! There's so much going on! I wish I was able to do something like this! And all the butterflies... they're so so beautiful! I can never draw butterflies without a reference.

Thank you so much for your kindness. I actually did have a reference, sort of (a picture of a monarch butterfly on a valentines card), but most of the butterflies I made up.

What a meaningful thing to say. Even if she doesn't appreciate it as fully as she should have, believe me, that is a true work of art. She ought to not take things like that for granted seeing a you must have spent so long and hard observing. Make sure she doesn't do it in future. You should be very proud of yourself. Very well done. Xx

I know how you feel when no one really pays attention. It happens to me all the time.
Your drawings are lovely! They are so complicated, yet evolve around a central theme. I've tried to do something like this, but simply can't.

It's kinda hard to tell. I started this one on a Thursday night, and finished it on a Sunday morning, but I didn't spend all the days in between drawing it, and some days I spend more time than others...probably about a couple days collectively, but it depends, I guess.
