Sixth in a series of conceptual self portraits I was inspired to do.

I think about ballerinas, who have pictures of pointe shoes everywhere. Those shoes, those little pointe shoes, define them: they are dancers. It is their way of life.

Skateboarders are the same. DVS, Globe, Vans, DC. The shoes define and influence the culture.

I've always thought this is kind of silly. I like these shoes, I like my fakes glasses. Not because I fancy myself emo or punk (though both titles are oft bestowed upon me), but because I like them.
