The best version of this Phantom's song I heard is by Nightwish.

No way. This totally looks like one of the scenes in my on-going fanfiction. I've incorporated Erik as himself, under the alias of Phoenix Rose. He's under the Curse of Calypso and secretly loves my main character, who's female of course.

I commented to see if you'd reply. You did, so I'll favorite this. Also, check out "Sea-Witch" in my gallery; this is the fanfic I was talking about. I have yet to post the chapter with the instance your picture reminds me of, so I'll summarize it here for you: one of the two heroines, my character, is on the roof of the operahouse, feeling utterly hopeless since no one seems to appreciate her and her fellow heroine doesn't even want her around. Phoenix climbs down from the statue of Pegasus (his hiding place in the movie) and answers a question that's been plaguing her mind about him. He's told her a story as to how he came under the Curse of Calypso under the pretense that it was a friend he met on his travels, and she wants to know if his friend was the Phantom of the Opera. When he answers affirmatively, she says "Tell him I'm in heaven. Living on Earth without him is like dying a thousand deaths in Hell." and then she throws herself from the roof. Acting quickly, Phoenix plunges down after her, sprouting ravens' wings in the process, and saves her from impacting with the pavement below before leveling out to hover in mid-air. She opens her eyes to find her former voice teacher (i.e. Erik in his truest form) holding her in his arms. "Don't you scare me like that." he says. I you, Erik!

You should.
P.S. Have you ever heard of Labyrinth? One of the influential characters in my fanfiction is from that.
P.P.S. My fellow heroine/co-author offers great, if some what vulgar sometimes, perspective in her view of our story. She's known as Moonlite_Water, or something along those lines, and she watches me. Check out my watch list.

I have heard of Labyrinth, and really want to see it, but have not yet had the opportunity to. People who know me say that its the kind of movie I like, so it will be on my Christmas list this year.

Good thing it is. It's quite a good movie; even my Algebra teacher loves it. She's a monster Jim Henson nut.

I love Jim Henson's work very much as well. I could spend hours on Youtube just watching Muppet clips.
I will likely wait until after I've seen the movie to read your story, but after what I've seen of it, I definitely plan to read it. It seems to be an interesting story, although admittedly a bit different than what I normally read. I will definitely look into it, though. ^^
