My friend lended the dvd of the first 40 episodes of Ranma 1/2. It's in Japanese (subtitled in english) so I have the theme song stuck in my head. rrrreeeeeeeaaaaaaaalllllllllllllllyyyyyy y annoying.

Well, it was subtitled in english, which means it had the translations in text at the bottom of the screen.

yeah but with most foreign dvds it also has an english version so you dont have to worry abotu subtitles, not to mention the english translations and the subtitle translations are completely different!
