I wonder if Granny Smith might've died, too, along with Bright Mac and Buttercup so it just leaves the Apple Siblings in the charge of the farm. Big Mac and Applejack are more mature and grownup enough to do all the hard work but AppleBloom is still little filly and they have to keep her safe all the time and she might be fed up and annoyed that her big siblings are too protective of her. They told her a reason why they're overprotective is because of the loss of their parents and grandmother.
