IF YOU PRETTY PRETTY PLEASE can you tell me the technique you used to make this picture? i'm absolutely entranced by the brushstrokes and textures! they're so beautiful to me~~ which brushes? what settings?? layers? etc...

lol, sure, no problem. depends actually. for this piece, i use watercolour brushes where the blending is round 60, dilution is round 70. but i sometimes adjust them to be the same or different, to see which has better effect. i usually paint the solid base with airbrush or pencil 1st before i use the watercolour brushes on it, so it won't look so blurry.
layers:
1st, i do the face and nose and lips lol
2nd layer above 1st, i do the eyes (may do the outline, eyebrow, eyeballs and whites in different layers then merge into one single layer)
3rd, i do the hair
4th, may be hair again for layering (this piece doesn't have it as i was speed painting)
5th layer is below 1st, as it's the neck and torso
then, after i add shading and cleaned up some rough places, i merge most of them
next, i open a layer below the merged character's layer, and add bg/textures--set to multiply or luminosity/lumi+shade as seen fit. i mostly found what i want through play and error...er, wait, i mean trial and error

you are most welcome^^, remember to leave a solid outline, or else whole piece will be too blurred (my 1st few tries ended up like that..orzlll)there are also other properties, like setting your brushes to spread/spread+noise, flat bristle etc. i only use them for effects
