May's clone feels more of a connection to their shared cousin, Monica Parker, than to May herself. Monica, in case you couldn't tell, is the daughter of Kaine Parker and Gwen Stacy. Since she is the daughter of someone who shouldn't exist and someone who is "legally" dead, it's easy to see her having a bit of a crisis. This ends up making Mayhem, who is half clone of May, half Symbiote, the best friend she will ever have, in more ways than one. While May and Ako both love Monica, they will never be able to understand how she feels.

Monica adopts the name Scarlet because she doesn't want to take up the same mantle as her father and uncle before her. Other than that, someone already took it. Those of you who are familiar with Mayday's comic line already know who I'm talking about.
