Description With a new goal set, the Space pirates set sail to the last place Whitebeard had been seen, only to run into a fishman named Jinbe. The fishman resembled a large blue whale shark with a stocky build. His yellow eyebrows, bulb-like nose and an angular lower lip that pointed up made his appearance unique. The man was huge, saying, way bigger than you were and you silently whistled at his appearance. “Wow.” Ace looked at you from the corner of his eyes and tsk’ed at your reaction.

When Ace’s eyes fell on the fishman however, his gaze wasn’t soft and his voice a little harsh mixed with a little humour. “Hey, big guy! I want to meet this Whitebeard!” The fishman looked with a stern expression at the young raven haired male in front of him, while Ace’s  crew stood behind the captain. The blue man scoffed. “I’m not going to allow a kid with murderous intent to see the old man!” One of Ace’s crew shuffled quietly back as he pointed to the blue man. “Captain! That’s Jinbe!” He said, fear sounding through his voice as others shivered a little as they now recognize the male. “Really? One of the Shichibukai? Well that’s going to be a problem.” Ace muttered, his eyes wandering over the bigger man in front of him.

“I may not be a member of the Whitebeard Pirates… but I feel it as my duty to face you!” Jinbe said as he held Ace’s gaze fixed to his face. Ace grinned up to Jinbe as he made himself ready to take the first step. In a matter of seconds attack after attack were fired at each other, never showing the other being inferior. Feeling the emotions from your protected running through your body, you reacted the way he hopefully wanted you to. No interfering, at no cost at all. Blow after blow went on for five whole days. You really wondered how on earth Ace could go on that long without any food as he loved food. With crossed arms you looked at the exhausted men and back to the Spade Pirates. The men were standing side by side, gaping at the still fighting men.

“It’s been five days, and they’re still fighting!” One muttered. “They might both die at this rate!” Another said while the others nodded slowly. You had to stand by and do absolutely nothing to aid the one you have to protect. Times like these you started to hate. Whenever the raven haired would fight, you weren’t allowed to help him in any way. His words were strict when you both made the vows as guardian and protected. He wanted to develop his strength without your help. With concerning eyes, you watched as both males were panting and Jinbe fell to the ground, closely followed by your beloved raven haired man. Every man of his crew yelled his name but your eyes were trailing towards a point in the mist surrounding the island.

A ship emerged from the white substance and your eyes went wide. He actually came. You thought as others noticed the ship also. “What’s that?!” One yelled as he stood near Ace, trying to tend to some wounds. “Where’s the kid who wants to take my head? As you wish, I’ll take you on.” His voice held more authority than some of the golden winged angels and you shuddered at his booming sound. “It’s the Whitebeard Pirates!” Another exclaimed, standing in front of Ace, attempting to form a barrier between him and the Huge man. “I’ll take care of this myself.” You heard the captain of the ship mutter to his underlings who took steps back, giving Whitebeard some space. When Whitebeard set foot on the soil, Ace tries to stand on his feet and you rushed to his side, helping him slightly. “I told you not to help me when I fight.” Ace whispered sternly as his eyes locked with yours. “You’re not fighting right now, so hush.” You said back, a frown gracing your face.

While walking towards your friend, Whitebeard blew away Ace’s crew aside with his haki and Ace’s anger boiled more than ever as he pushed himself from your helping hand. “You guys!” He screamed, hoping from his very being they weren’t dead by that single blow. With his last bit of energy left, Ace let a flaming net emerge from his arms, attempting to separate the pirate in front of him from his crew. “Captain!” “Captain Ace, what are you doing?!” Every single one of the yelled, not gasping to the fact that Ace was giving them a chance to escape. “Run you guys!” Ace yelled back, eyes never leaving the opponent in front of him. “Captain!” All of them yelled before they finally ran away. You laid your hand on Ace’s shoulder and his eyes flicked to yours. With a nod you disappeared to his crew, making sure they would escape the battleground safely.

“What? You going to run away now?” Whitebeard asked tauntingly as he looked down on the younger male in front of him. “I’m letting my crew escape. I stand in their place… I won’t run!” Ace’s yell was the last thing you heard from him as you made up the Spade Pirates’ mind to get away, away to safety. Your very being could feel Ace’s anger and fear for his crew. For the time you had studied the man, you had experienced him as loyal and always ready to help his men when they were in danger. The further you ran, leading the men to the safety of their ship, you felt a pang through your heart. Maybe it wasn’t fear echoing from Ace’s emotion, maybe it was your own. Please be safe, Ace.

It had been a couple of days and several fights until you would see your protected again. Ace’s crew went after Whitebeard for abducting their captain and wanted to retrieve the raven haired male. They were horribly beaten though and were taken in my Edward Newgate himself. With a sigh you found the room Ace resided. A frown graced your features and you sat down next to the male, a hand running through his hair. “Idiot. How could you think you could defeat Whitebeard.” You muttered, clearing his pain from his body to let him sleep peacefully. “You should think about yourself more.” You cupped his cheek and caressed over his cheek with your thumb. After some time you left his room to let him sleep in quiet.

The door slammed open and Ace stepped outside, not believing his eyes as the ship he was standing on was foreign to his eyes. His eyes trailed to the ocean surrounding the ship and he slumped down against the railing with a loud thud. His head fell in his hands as he thought about what happened and he hoped for his crew to be safe.

“Hey!” A loud voice boomed next to him and a pompadour appeared from the middle of the deck. Ace raised his head from his hands and looked to the side. “I’m Commander of the Fourth Division… Thatch!” The owner of the voice exclaimed while Ace looked dumbfounded at him and his.. hair. “Since you’re joining our crew, I think we should be friends.” Thatch said as he took the silence as a cue to go on and sat on the railing. “Shut up!” Ace yelled to the man and his head fell in his hands once again. The pompadour chuckled loudly. “You sure woke up in a bad mood. Oh, yeah. Do you want to know what happened after you passed out?” Thatch asked happily as his eyes never left Ace’s defeated form leaning to the railing of the ship.

“Your companions came to get your back… so we beat them all.” He said with a voice with slight regret and sympathy. Ace flinched at his words and Thatch went on with his explanation. “What? It’s not like they’re dead. We’re keeping them here on this ship.” Ace raised his head in anger and your assiduity raised with every split second as you went to his side stealthily. “Are you sure you should leave me like this, without any locks or shackles or anything?” Ace asked, venom spitting from his tone. “Shackles? We don’t need those!” Thatch said mockingly and laughed softly, pissing Ace off even more as he gritted his teeth. Silently, the raven haired vowed to get back on Whitebeard, but words of reason, your silent words in his mind, told him to wait a little longer, wait until he was a bit stronger than he was now.

Ace averted his eyes from the pompadour and locked them with your concerned ones. You crouched down next to him and frowned slightly while placing your hand on his shoulder. “Have patience, Ace. Please.” You whispered in his ear as he closed his eyes shortly only to find you disappeared again. The last thing he was sure of was that your wings were darker than before and he frowned at the thought. Don’t tell me she used her magic on my crew to get them away? Ace thought and bit his lips lightly.

You shuddered a little as you disappeared from Ace's eyes, knowing exactly where his eyes were directed to before he had closed them. Taking your hand in the other you looked up to the sky and wondered whether other angels had faced the same stupid fate as you before. "Have second thoughts, dearie?" Your red eyed friend asked as he appeared behind you. "No." You whispered back, never turning to face the reaper. "You're lying, (y/n) and you know that." It hissed back and you knew your friend must be pointing its finger at you. With a shrug you hung your head a little. "And what if I had? Would that change anything? I think not." You said back sternly. "I don't care about the crap they will say up above, I will carry out my task even if I have to die for it." You yelled back angrily as you turned to face your friend.

(f/n) stumbled back seeing your eyes. The once pure white of the eye were now turning black as your features darkened. "You've been here for too long, (y/n)." (f/n) muttered and a shrill laugh escaped your blackened lips. "I don't wish to go back to the place they call heaven when they treat me like trash." You whispered loudly and the reaper looked at you helplessly. "(y/n), please come back, please return to the one you were." It pleaded and shock filled your face as you lifted your hands to your face. A soft sob left your lips as the reaper stepped forward, willing to hold your now shaking form.

As you looked back up to the soulcollector your eyes were white once again, irisses filled with a pure (e/c) colour, lips back to original. "You should go and see Thrir, (y/n). Explain him what you're feeling. Maybe he can help." The reaper muttered as its hand fell back to its side. "No, I don't want to see that despicable angel ever again, (f/n)." With that the reaper left your angelic form once again, alone to think about a solution and what you should do. Soon.
