The illustration is all done in Adobe Illustrator CS5, the tools that I used are pen tool (P) (N), gradient and brushes.

This is a beautiful piece like all of your work. It's very vivid and the stark white background really helps Jem pop out with her colors. What I am most impressed with is the subtle colors that bring this to life. It's easy to use flat colors and be done with it, but just a touch of pink in the cheeks and hands help make her look alive. And this may be a crazy thing to favor, but what I am most impressed with is that more than one color was used to transition over to Jem's hair from Jerrica's. It's not just straight up pink, its a gradient of colors and I think it's a wonderful attention to detail. Even down to the tiny sparkles in the lips, its just wonderful little details that make these things good.

The transformation form Jerrica into Jem is AMAZING! you did a fabulous job on her hair and her lips and her everything! I really can't get enough of the coloring so brilliant!

Okay that might sound wrong but I guess I have a hair fetish... The first think I'm focusing on while looking at the picture is always hair. And what can I say here is that I really like the way you 'outlined' them here. It makes whole picture look even sharper and neater. Also, love her face expression
