DDLC is also one of my scariest ranked games too.
As far as I can remember it’s the only game that’s triggered nightmares for me. Those lasted a while too.... but now I’m free and mostly numb/used to all of this XD

I believe what makes it so scary is the 0-100 turn it took from cute and innocent to terrifying. Also, it messes with your mind in making you question a lot that was normal up until DDLC (like caring about fictional characters).
Overall a very unique and one might even say revolutionary game.
You mentioned it was "one of the scariest games" to you, so what other games were scary to you?

Not sure if there is one myself, did you try downloading the mod for yourself to play?

Frankly, Monika's as scary in act 3 as she's charming and beautiful. I never saw the signs, watching Markiplier's playthrough, of what she was doing behind the scene.
The game left so many impressions on me I've been into the fandom since the start of this year.
If Monika had her own route, she might've rivalled my darling Yuri. I see so much of myself in Yuri.. Introvert, tall, likes reading, same preference in poems...

I never actually thought of her as scary because out of all the characters I understood her the most actually, especially after she deletes everything. I wasn't really a fan of any of the others, I have no idea which one I would've chosen.
But if Monika had her own route maybe she wouldn't have done any of the things she did because in the end all she wanted was love.

It's not really her actions that frighten me, but rather that intense gaze. As she tells you what she knows and what she's done, she looks at you with stern yet confident, longing eyes. Like I wrote in one of my poems on here:
We sit by the desk, your eyes hauntingly staring into mine
Charming as ever, your gaze still send chills down my spine

That part of the game didn't scare me at all somehow. It was more the messed up stuff that happened before.
The poem is neat^^

Not really, a few indie game demos and some in a playlist play through on YouTube. There is one that’s about trolls like the movie documentary troll hunter
