Description WAS RUDOLPH THE RED NOSE REINDEER A WENDIGO!?!

Somewhere in the North, stretching from the Pacific Northwest, all through Canada; and towards the Artic regions, there is a myth about a very mysterious creature.

As legend would have it, many wilderness settlers, such as fur traders and silver miners, encountered a terrifying reindeer-like beast that emanated a red glow, or crimson aura, during the worst blizzards.

This beast is the Wendigo; a well renown cryptid from Native American and Inuit cultures.

Most encounters tell of people seeing a singular red aura, followed by a sound of ritual bells, this often piercing the thick fog and snow, only to reveal a set of antlers on a huge and imposing creature.

As silly as this next proposal sounds, it does have some merit.

These descriptions are in tune with another well known legend, that of Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer.

Rudolph has long been attributed to exhibiting those very SAME features.

In Rudolph's case, he is known to cause a singular bright red light, which becomes an aura around him, as he makes his way through fog and tormenting blizzards.

It's said, that although Rudolph is claimed to be a flying reindeer, this might simply be a visual mistake from him being so large, that through the poor visibility of the weather, his great size only makes him appear to be flying, as his head is set so high off the ground.

Today, there are many folklore experts and paleontologists that believe that BOTH Rudolf and the Wendigo are a cryptid species of prehistoric deer...namely the gigantic elk called Megaloceros.

Megaloceros was the biggest deer that ever lived and sported a massive antler rack on its head, so formidable that it could even thwart off giant predators like the short-faced cave bear.

Because this was a very REAL prehistoric animal that had lived in the same regions where Wendigo and Rudolph were mythically placed, there is some credible wonder as to whether these are just myths, or is there something much more REAL behind them?!
