A scenic view along the canals of Amsterdam where a bike filled with a basket of flowers rest beside a bridge railing. 18 " in x 24 "in Painting primarily done in watercolor. Image was drawn on a sheet of watercolor paper that had been used to dry Easter Eggs giving it it's festive background.

Funny story about this piece. We carried this work many times to work on during an open painting session held by the Sykesville Painting Club. Must have show at least two dozen people the painting as I worked on it. Had it photographed and began to resize it and post on hundreds of items in my CafePress store. As I typed in AMPSTERDAM as was written on painting, noticed a red line under AMPSTERDAM. I had spelled it wrong in both the painting and in the title. I think I did a pretty good job removing the errant 'P', but felt incredibly stupid for making such a mistake. I could not believe that I showed the painting to so many people, but no one mentioned the mistake. It is a funny thing...if I draw a word, I always have to be extra careful to spell it correctly ...even common words. Writing words in like a letter , no problem. I was working on a second project nick-named AMPED...and must have been thinking about it as I was drawing.
