Description We looked at the tower, waiting. Team Alpha had infiltrated the Imperial base a while ago. Meggan, with Denith and Hikari providing cover, should by now be working to open the gates that sealed the vertical shaft leading to the subterranean levels and where the enormous kyber crystal was being extracted. If they hadn't been captured, or killed.

Destroying that crystal would be a big blow to the Empire. Kybers were extremely rare by themselves, not to mention of such a huge size. Who knows what kind of nefarious project the Imperials wanted it for, but hopefully it would be delayed or even stopped after our strike.

Suddenly, the comlink comes to life with Meggan's voice, alerting teams Beta, Delta and Echo. The gates are open! The countdown starts!

A rocket launched by Delta-2 strikes the tower. Stormtroopers start to emerge from the base and many of them fall under a blaster barrage. Godinh pushes away the camouflage net and says "May the Force be with us". I activate the Mobquet C/L-82 landspeeder, all senses alert after the tense and long wait. My job now is to pilot this thing as fast as possible towards the tower and into the shaft, so that Godinh can blow up the crystal using the large Merr-Sonn laser cannon that Meggan installed in the vehicle. The sooner we get there, the fewer anti-air defenses we'll have to face, and Team Alpha will have to hold their position for a lower amount of time.

Finally!

--------------

This piece was inspired by the RPG campaign I'm currently playing online with some friends. The forum makes combats take so much time that I had been waiting for many weeks while the other two players infiltrated the tower and confronted stormtrooper after stormtrooper. When they opened the shaft and I could finally play my part, I got so excited and inspired that I had to draw this

The problem is, this was supposed to be just a quick doodle! I really got carried away with the detail here. But I hadn't drawn a jungle like this before and I suppose this counts as practice…

Most of the creativity talent and the events described are entirely due to our awesome GM. I merely drew the scene based on his descriptions and diagrams

I used a 0.5 mm mechanical pencil with a grade 2B lead.

Thank you!

I must admit, I got worried that it might have gotten too cluttered for the important elements of the action to stand out… :S

If you watch it closely you can't miss the action.
Don't worry.

But I might have taken the focus off the tower, the speeder, and the tree that gives it the impression of speed. (I know, I know, too much perfectionism is bad   )

I don't think so, my friend. For me it looks well done.

Nice! The level of detail is amazing  (and definitely counts as practice xD!)

I totally relate to  'this was meant to be a quick doodle/sketch but then got carried away thank you perfectionism!' xDD

Thank you!

And seriously… I even used just half a sheet of paper so I forced myself to make it smaller. And then I proceeded to fill it with details down to the level of resolution given by the 0.5 mm lead or even less! What is wrong with me xDDDDD

Also, I had been adding details and correcting things up until the moment I had to leave it as is because my father was going to turn off the computer with the scanner… But when I was going to his study my mind was all like "SHOULD I HAVE ADDED CLOUDS AND LEFT THE UPLOAD FOR TOMORROW???"

Perhaps next time I should try drawing just individual elements (a ship, a character) instead of a whole scene, to prevent this from happening. But the thing is, I *like* the results I had here…

Unfortunately (or not xD), this rings a bell xDD

Perfectionism ftw xD !
