Description

Leaving the pub early they walked quickly away not caring about the rain, the unwanted attention had made them decide to leave early. They heard the doors from the pub reopen behind them which made them walk faster, as they herd the names being hurled at them they looked around for help but no one was there. Quickly rushing down the nearest alley they cut through the shortcut to their car it was then they noticed something odd, the rain had stopped they couldn’t hear it. In fact they couldn’t hear much of anything really except a horrible static noise that began to fill both their ears alongside the thumping of their hearts pulsing. What was going on? They couldn’t move. Where the end of the alley should have been was now nothing but static like an old TV blurring black and white lines. Their bodies froze as all they could do was stand and just stare at it.

What was going on? Why was this happening? They heard commotion from the static before them, a twisting, clicking, and cracking kind of movement that made this already strange situation take a disturbing turn. Long disjointed human like legs appeared through the black and white static lines followed by a fleshy decaying looking body, three large blackish brown tendrils growing out that reminded those that saw of leeches emerging from murky waters. Next what could only be described as a head, danced around in the air with a single piercing, burning eye that locked onto them. Their eyes flicked over the creature unable to focus on one spot for too long, it began to walk on four limbs, disjointed, twisted humanoid legs at the front and disjointed human twisted arms for its back legs. It stopped a few feet from them. The leach like mouths moved closer but didn’t touch them. The creature’s mouths squelched as they opened and closed and made a chattering noise as the small spine like teeth clicked together. Two deformed pincer like arms reached up to touch them when a noise from behind the pair rang out, jolting the creature from its advances. “WHAT THE HELL IS THAT!!” it was the yelling voice of the unwanted attention from the pub. The form of this creature defied the speed at which it moved, quickly it reached out planting its hands and feet on the wall and crawled up and over them. Its supernatural speed carried it scuttling across the wall and direction behind the creator of the yelling, its joints clicking and cracking as it went, with a fluid filled gargle the monster landed behind the person. The momentary shift in attention of the monster gave the two enough autonomy back to turn their heads so that a long discarded mirror on the floor displayed for them the horror that those leech like tendrils could do to a body akin to their own.

A voice in there head told them to run if they wanted to get away, it wasn’t their own, it wasn’t a voice they recognized, they pondered on the owner but decided that this was the lone opportunity they would get and thus ran towards the static wall. They shut their eyes as they passed through it, the rain once again hit their faces. Panting not from exertion but from terror they turned back to the alleyway for the danger at hand, but to their surprise nothing was there. Did they imagine the incident? Was it panic of the stalker that made them see something that wasn’t? It was then that their eyes fell onto a torn up jacket, a jacket they has seen before, a jacket that had called them names and chased them away from the pub, and the jacket they would never forget with the visage of tearing, gurgling and clicking.

This was one of those artworks where I wasn’t sure whether to post it or not. I have a love hate feeling about the final result but neither the less I decided you know what share it.

I hope you enjoy the little story that is with it.

Maybe one day I will revisit this little alley monster and redraw it.
