Seems similar somehow, I dont know if you use SAI, but in my case, I use the brush for initial shading and then the marker tool to detail. Also I used the greyscale tecjnique (if that is the name of it) to shade, and then adding color.

About the proportions, I guess I'm just obssesed with wide hips LOL.
