"Welcome, welcome to my most humble abode! Just ignore the fragrant smells that be wardin' off the evil spirits and give momma Grizelda a hug..."

This character has been floating around in my gallery forever and seems to keep getting changes to her backstory all the time. Although I think settling on the Creole/Caribbean tropic witch is probably the best thing for her. Grizelda often tricks people, usually in a playful manner, in order to drive away unwanted trespassers on her property. Those she wants to keep around or have company with often know she doesn't actually eat run away children (she has plenty of fishing options and grows a garden to use in her cooking), curse people to become her minions, or cast horrible hexes... But when everyone assumes that Voodoo and Hoodoo are all this evil wicked stuff, you have to make do with what you got...

By the way, some of those "fragrant smells" would include things like urine or herbs laid out around the home... She herself wouldn't cover herself in such things.

And yes, she seems to be much thicker than last time; I am very inconsistent with characters who I don't draw often enough.
