Book I

Chapter 1

A dark world shrouded in an everlasting darkness is a world he had hoped for. A world he wished to become permanent as a stake of revenge against a universe not worth survival. At last his endurance to erode the world, erasing all echidnas was at a high. As the population of them slowly died under his black flames  a seal was created binding him to an eternal hell, trapped with the crystallized figures of the Master Emerald and the seven dark emeralds, his purpose was not fully lived. To the day of his demise all echidna systems of information were destroyed in a worry to erase his existence from the world. The seven dark emeralds were thrown into the ocean as a hope they would not be discovered and his name was a deteriorating memory slowly meeting an end. All but three echidnas had survived that day of the thousands that lived on Angel Island. Across a field a grave home was made for the many that had died, along with the brotherhood. One had lived from the brotherhood and henceforth was that family the start of a new tradition. One guardian, the guardian of Angel Island, it would be passed down generation, by generation. Throughout the centuries, he was nothing. Never had been mentions…like he never existed…

At a date of 3050 and new world had grown from the ashes of the tragedy. A group of heroes recognized as the Freedom Fighters protected our people of Mobius from the dangers that lurk in the dark. Alongside them was our Chaotix, lead by the current Guardian of Angel Island Knuckles. Knuckles struggled in way trying to truly discover what he could from his past, but it is as if no one wants him to know, which sadly is the truth. For protection of the truth, one lie had been passed throughout the years to protect the island from harm. When asked what happened to the brotherhood all that would be said is that an eruption had happened in the under part of Angel Island that caused a distortion caused the island to fall. After the great demise and fall of the brotherhood, the survivors were able to regain the islands gravitational float and keep it from ever falling again or that was their hope.

In the reign of Angel Falls our true blue hero closed his eyes and dreamt of whatever stirred through his mind. The wind blew gently swirling leaves over his head and bringing a gently flower to his reach. Without opening his eyes as the flower floated over his head he reached up and gripped it gently and pulled it to his nose gently inhaling its delicate aroma. With a gleeful smile, he let out a sigh and let the flower go. He opened his eyes and watched the wind carry it off and traced the leaves as they blew past his face. He sat himself up promptly and looked at the clear blue sky as the sun just began to rise above the mountains that trace the wolf past. He hoisted himself him with the tree branch that he laid under and ran forward to New Mobotropolis, a city made completely out of nanities.  The city was run by an Artificial Intelligence named Nicole. The city was withheld by the Acorn family, a family born and raised through royalty who did all to keep it peaceful. The city's walls withheld inside great people surrounded by their families, but outside the walls lived many people who desire nothing but the bad life. Introduced groups of villains doing all that is done to wreak havoc and cause nothing but chaos and destruction.

In another reign a great evil searches through the destroyed files of the echidna past. Dr. Finitivus searches through the ashes and ruble of the old files. At first his search is hopeless. All the files, all the tales, the past lead to something, but what? That question stirred in all the minds of the echidnas. Something wasn't adding up and Finitivus was the one who dedicated his life to figure out why. In a dim light an old computer flickered to life and an encoded message shot across the screen.

He will return back to the world
This is a great evil that we did most of the ash in the past attempted to burn
The body will be returned to a hero
And meet all of their fortunes, and death will be inevitable

His eyes traced the message and he started decoding it to his best. When the message was clear his eyes widened at the name. He had never heard it, but if it was truly great evil it must be found. His mission was clear and to that moment he was off. But before his journey began he needed to know more about this being. Sadly, he had no true understanding of how to awaken this great evil or learn anything on it so he went towards that fat man of evil. The brains behind the machines, Dr. Eggman.

As he entered the city of broken machines and that pugnant smell of oil he managed to use a warp ring to quicken his pace. He entered Dr. Eggmans lab and his cold shallow voice escaped his lips, "Hello Dr. Eggman."

The big boned Doctor jumped a bit and turned with a sneer of anger and annoyance, "You've entered my lab!"

Finitivus rolled his eyes, "Thank you for pointing out the obvious, I've come in need of assistence."

Eggman glared at the echidna and thought about the consequences of being helpful. "With what?" his voice had a tone of annoyance lurking behind it.

The white echidna smirked, "I think I have a solution to all of our problems..."

Elsewhere around New Mobotropolis nighttime approached and all our heros were asleep. Sonic laid still in his bd, but something was stirring in his subconcious. He gripped his sheets and squeezed his eyes closed as the nightmare came to him.

The city was alaze and blood covered the walls and grass underneath and beside him. His side was spilt open and utter confusion flushed over him. He backed spiralling around looking for an answer. "Sonic..." His ears perked softly and he turned slowly. A fist enclosed around his neck and hoisted him up ever so slightly. He gripped the hand wrapped around his neck and struggled, kicking his feet to try and break the grip. His eyes opened and all he saw was red swiriling eyes glaring at him. A smile developed in the darkness and Sonic's eyes widened. He looked down directly seeing the others hand pointed directly at him. When it lunged forcing itself in his stomach he screamed letting the blood flow down the corners of his mouth as blood crawled up his throat. His opponent dropped him and Sonic laid in the dirt holding his now impaled stomach merciless as he bit his lip in discomfort. The sihloette stared at him with those glassy eyes and walked off as the colbalt one screamed for mercy. His eyes shot open and he shot up from his bed in a scold sweat. 'Who was that?' He asked as he gently swiped the sweat from his forehead.

He stared blankly at the ground as he tried to process his thoughts. He closed his eyes softy and let himself fall back onto his bed. He laid in the darkness and lets the picture flow through his mind. Those blazing red eyes swirling into the darkness, melting into the neverending black nothingness of night. The picture slowly broke the sound barrier of his mind gnawing for an escape.

The next day back at the oil scented hell of Robotropolis Eggman and Finitivus researched the magic of this so called great evil. Eggman typed away before an old file popped up on the screen. The file was buried in the echidna database. It was erased, but not completely exiled. Eggman clicked the file and it opened with pictures, descriptions, and discoviers. Eggman stared at the screen and began to read aloud, "The Dark Sihlouette: Fleetway. A 16 year old echidna murdered for unknown reasons. His spirit stayed on angel island and he slowly began to feed off of excess energy escaping the master emeralds. Two years later he was reincarnated as a chaos demon and plunged angel island into an everlast of darkness. His power levels were unknown. His appearance was but a black shadow in the form of the accomplance he had seen in the nearby future. The silhouette of a hedgehog. His black flames rose over the world and he nearly erased the echidna race from Mobius. A seal was created between the Master emeralds and seven emeralds known as Dark Emeralds. The dark glassy appearance are perfectly defined as an imprisonment for darkness. The seal trappeds his memories, personality, and his known appearence into the seven emeralds and his soul and lifeforce into the master emerald. To protect the world his name was outlawed. Never to be spoken again. One echidna to the day of 3050 still knows his name...To keep his incident from being reincarnated hsi emeralds were dumped at the bottom of the ocean and his existence was gone..."

Finitivus thought deeply, "He was a being of pure chaos and he is bound to these emeralds. We can awaken them if we find them!"

Eggman stared blankly then added, "He needs a body to compose himself from. Someone who can form with pure chaos."

"Knuckles" Finitivus stated as he thought of the pure destruction.

Eggman sneered, "No Sonic. The hedgehog silhouette! Knuckles would be corrupted by that power and thus the chaos demon would be corrupted and possibly unable to sustain in that body. Sonic has the power to harness pure amounts of chaos energy and stay completely fine."

They smiled idly and a plan began to form in the walls of that gross city.

Sonic was out on a casual morning run when a small cry caught him off guard. He stopped and listened to the direction it was in and ran towards it. He ran south till he reached the emerald coast pier. A little girl was standing there crying softly.
He crept forward and let his voice slid out, "Hi are you ok?"

She turned with a dark smile. "Thy is naive and is one for fail and fault."

HE blinked confused and lost, "Who are you?"

She snickered and stared into his eyes with a deathly passion, "Thy name is Ethiopian the demon creator and my dear boy...you are in a world of hurt. Thy creation will rise and burn thy to ash and rise amoungst others and be of the strongest decent." Sonic stared confusidly at the girl and when he blinked she was gone.

His mind was pierced with those red eyes he saw in his dream. His sanity was bothered and now with what she said he was on a brink of destruction. He returned home to his city to be called on by his friends. "Sonic we have a problem!" the girl of auburn brown called as she approached his with her sky blue boots and vest covering over he black jeans and shirt.

He took a grip back to reality and responded with a mere, "What is it?"

Her eyes fixated on his as she moved her hand to his shoulder, "Sonic? Are you ok?"

He stared off behind her before his focus met with her eyes. HE blinked a few times before his senses came back, "Yeah I'm fine. So whats the problem?"

"Dr. Eggman is at it again! He kidnapped some innocent kids."

Sonic smiled smuggly, "Heh. He really wants a fight he's got a fight!"

Sonic sped off after that sentanced and headed straight for the big boned doctors lab. Once he got into the scummy city he headed for the lab, but was ambushed by robots. Sonic grinned as he jumped up and spin dashed the robots surronding him. However, they were a mere distraction. When he landed from the attack a robotic hand twice the size of him shot in his direction. Before he had time to react the hand firmly gripped him in its palm and shot backwards to the direction it came from. The arm contracted back to its starting point with Sonic in tow. He struggled against the firm grip, but he was not able to get his arms out. Eggmans elevator decended to where the doctor himself was staring Sonic dead in the face, "my my so quick to jump into action you never think of the consequences."

Sonic snickered and let Eggman's words come in contact, "Oh please like this is a threat! I could beat you in my sleep!"

Eggman let out a small low life laughter as if something was up his sleeve. The robot hand Sonic was currently trapped in opened slowly and as Sonic burst from its grip a glass cylinder fell over him trapping him in a hollow tube. Sonic knocked on the glass and got a feel on it when he figured out it was plexi glass. Sonic pushed against it with his hands, but wasn't able to do anything. The floor elevated with Eggman and Sonic on it and returned to the lab where Finitivus stood so secretly. "Welcome rodent."

Sonic stared at the dark artist and just smiled. He leaned back against the cell and crossed his arms, "What are you two plotting?"

Eggman and Finitivus met in a stare before the process began. Eggman walced over to his computer and began to type quickly on the computer. An anaylsis of Sonic's being sprang on the screen. His blood type, body structure, energy levels, blood flow, and all other importance popped up over a picture of Sonic's anatomy. Sonic stared at the screen before he noticed seven emeralds floated outside the plexi glass cell and around his figure. He stared at the dark jewels as they began to pulsate with a red and black energy. Beams of raw power began to  lighten up the lab as the erupted from the entity trapped deep within those jewel. The energy beams began to pulsate around Sonic shocking him causing mass amounts of pain to overtake his body. He fell to his knees and growled softly as he tried to fight the pain. The power from those emeralds caused his body muscles to tighten and cause lack of mobility. Once that process was completey Sonic's eye colored dulled out and turned to a cold grey color. He laid on the floor and could sense something they could not. He saw energy waves emenating from the Master Emeralds which dwelled a few miles near the shore. With each wave his body moved more on its own as he was dragged to that gem.

His body was cold and that voice returned, "Follow..." Sonic bit his lip and tried to fights these gems dark power, but he felt as if he had no power to do so. His body began to run and he ran towards the emerald. Finitivus and Eggman followed slowly behind with the seven gems they started with.

Sonic reached the master emerald and his dull, but in pain appearance stared Knuckles in the eyes. He tried to speak but it was as if he had no voice. All he could muster up was a few small grunts and whines. Sonic walked on past his friends straight towards the emerald. "Touch it!" The voice said. HE fought against it but he was thrusted forward and his hands met with the glassy look of the emerald. The energy began to beam off and the once beautiful green gem began to darken and crack. The sky above became gloomy and filled with dark clouds with lightening surfacing through them. Sonic screamed in agony and hit the ground as his once blue fur began to ripple gold and his eyes blinked from grey to red. He screamed once more before the Master Emeralds burst into a puff of black smoke. Knuckles stared into the cloud and saw but only red swirling eyes. WHen the smoke cleared a gold hedgehog stood atop the now black pile of broken gem with red swirling eyes. A dark grin painted itself across his face and a small laugh escaped his lips.

He stared at the beings before him and glared at the echida and smiled deviously,
"Fleetway...is back baby!"
