That must have taken forever to do with cut-outs. Pretty remarkable!

It's very similar with how you do it in Flash. A lot of cartoon shows in Flash use the "cut-out" method, where you have a big library of parts that make up the characters and you animate them. It's how I did a majority of my Tooth & Claw series. Of course, you can't do that with everything, so there were times here and there I had to do certain "parts" frame by frame.
You can do the frame by frame method in Flash, like you did with the stop motion, or you can use the key-pose & tween method like I do. I figure out what it is I want the character to do, set up all my timing in the keyposes, set up my tweens, then break those down when I need to, to add more animation principles on the fly. Plus with Flash it's easy to fix stuff cause you get instant feedback and nothing is set in stone.
You'd probably be pretty good with it once you got the hang of it.

Ah, I didn't know that. When I compared it with your cut-out one, the animation styles just didn't seem to match up, but now I see why. You have some good stuff going and look forward to your finished 3D stuff in the future.

Awesome! I also animated with this technique and is quite costly in time. But the result is very nice and in your case you have been very good, congratulations!
