Description Ok, So in order for you to fully understand what I'm about to tell you, we're going to have to establish a few ground rules and you're going to have to just suspend your disbelief in order to accept what I say. Unless you haven't read the newspaper in the past few months, you'll know and accept that there are those of us living today that are…different. I really hate to use the term superhero but it seems to have become the accepted term for people with my condition. I don't like the term myself, it carries a hell of a lot of expectations and to be honest, talking as I am, its like I'm making myself out to be more important than I am. I want to get that straight before we continue. I'm not particularly incredible. I mean ok, so I fell into the percentile effected by the wave that DIDN'T turn into ticking timebombs but its not like I used my newfound powers to their utmost potential. Ugh 'powers', I don't like THAT term either but its undeniable that I have them. They're constantly changing, I've discovered. But I'll cover that when I get to it. The wave. The event that we THOUGHT had started then and there but in actuality had started a long time ago. And here's where things get screwy. Here's where you're REALLY going to have to trust me. See, I'm one of the few people who knows the entire story behind it. You know, I said I wasn't important but I was part of a team who saved the world. You see, the government know who is enhanced, who has abilities, and they regulate them. And for the most part, it works. People awoke, they either donned ridiculous outfits and started cleaning up their respective homes, they donned ridiculous outfits and started RUINING their respective homes or they went into hiding. I fell into the first category.  But unfortunately a few fell into the second. And for those instances, BAYONET was formed. Basically, they're super police. But things got a bit crazy when we discovered WHAT the wave was. Now to the part where you need to trust me because to be honest, until I saw the proof, I'd be with you calling me up for bullshit. But this is the honest truth. It was aliens. Yeah, aliens. I know, I know, please, just let me finish before you completely disregard what I'm saying. We don't know what they were trying to do, maybe they wanted us as slaves, maybe we were being primed to become biological weapons in some galactic war. We don't know and frankly, I didn't want anything to do with it. I was quite happy busting purse snatchers, bank robbers and muggers. But I didn't get the luxury because of the wave. We found out that the wave itself was comprised of several different wavelengths that spread invisibly across the entire world. Nowhere was unaffected. But for the most part, it had no adverse reaction. But we soon quickly found out that the different waves react to each other. We have those who gained abilities and everyone else. The man in charge of discovering the fact that aliens were responsible did not take the news well. But the worst was yet to come because he started to understand what it did. This is where I saved the world. He discovered that the aliens had left behind, in our own goddamn language no less, a trigger phrase that would activate the other 85% of the population of the world. If it had turned the world into super heroes, that would have been one thing, but we found out the waves react to each other. Basically, they react to ME. Now, I mentioned earlier that I didn't want a part in this grand scale affair. I've come to terms with what happened to me and try to help the world my way. But it turns out, if the trigger phrase is uttered, the entire population will go into a furious rage, trying to KILL me. And I mean total blind rage, they will rip themselves apart  to get me. They will die just to lay a finger on me, no matter how minimal the contact. We theorise it's a failsafe left by the aliens in case whatever they planned failed. Either way, if the word was said, that'd be the fate of the world. And that crazy bastard Cassius King, the man who solved the mystery, went absolutely insane and triggered it. The world itself didn't know, the trigger was as silent as the wave to begin with. But we know now that the world HAS been altered and that on sight, the people of the entire planet will go insane to kill me. Now, I know what you're thinking. Why not just hide? Why not become a hermit, order everything online and never leave. That's not a luxury I had. Unfortunately, King was also head of BAYONET and before he was killed, he set them after me. Now I like the men and women of BAYONET. I've been involved in the odd grand scale battle with them, they do fine work. But they're also hardwired to do Kings bidding. And with King dead, nobody can switch them off. Their orders were to kill me and, naturally I took offence. I felt I'd earned the right to clear myself, but this wouldn't be easy. A machine like the one King used to trigger the second wave existed, but  was on the other side of the country. Between me and it were a few million people who would rather die than let me take a step. I know I can undo it and I feel obligated, Ive discovered first hand that people affected do not return to normal and simply riot and attack one another. My job is to get across the country with as little detection as possible. Now, my powers. Prior to the wave, I had repulsion, the power to force people back with telekinetic energy. It had the kick of being shoved or punched, it didn't exude heat, but it came in handy in a fight. After the second wave, I totally lost this power but gained a new one. I literally know how anything works. I can dismantle then reassemble anything. And I fashioned weapons for myself. Namely, a pneumatic arm mounted blade and a wrist mounted flamethrower. Very close range but its effective. I have to reach the other side of the country and undo some godawful plot from a long dead madman whose robotic super soldiers are determined to see me dead and the rest of humanity who wouldn't mind lending a hand. What could go wrong?
