Is this one of the processes used to train upcoming animators? Like if I wanted to become an animator, are there little tutorial classes that teach basic animation techniques?

Dude there are plenty of tutorials out there in flash, all you have to do is search them.

Yeah sure FlyingMonkeyofOz! = ) I used a program called Macromedia Flash Pro 8 to draw this. It is a program that is generally used for animation/flash animations on websites but it still came out effectively as a still drawing. ^_~ I highly recommend it if you get the opportunity to use it if you would like to draw to something of that quality. ^^

actually drawing wise flash is great for outlines! If I don't outline by hand I use flash to do it because they come out so clean. It is pretty fun actually. Of course photoshop is best for coloring(I think so) but I can't wait to see him animated! I am tempted to borrow your pictures and do some animating myself if I have extra time for fun XD

Oh, and just wanted to add that like others have said, it doesn't look as Sonic-y anymore. Just keep pacing yourself, and you'll have Ashworth developed as his own! I love the big shoes especially.... I think how you have them shaped makes them stand apart from Sonic shoes.
Oh, and while the eyes are different from Sonic, I think if you made them totally different (the actual eyeball) then I think it'll look almost nothing like Sonic.
Just keep it up though, and experiment if ya want
BTW, my parents are going out tonight, so I'll get the voice clip to ya sometime tonight! I already have some ideas in mind ^_~ (and Ive recorded a good one on my phone, just gotta do it on the computer!)

The animation sheet looks very interesting... so, you are going to do an animation of him soon? I am also starting on doing one, inspirated by the small Flash film "Illusion of Memory" which I just found with your help BTW.
My dream also always was an animation, and I in fact wanted to do a series called "Project Dark". At first it should only show a few scenes of Jamai's lost past and what happened to her at that time, but now I am thinking it all over. maybe I could make a series of smaller scenes, just like "IOM" is like, so PD could be with more symbolizm.
Still, I really don't know how to animate. i am trying with Windows Movie maker, but what really makes problems to me is the amount of scenes - and how to produce them. Flash making is harder than i thought. For now I am drawing each single scene by hand, but your method seems to be much better. I can see i can learn alot from you, Elson .
As to the current status of "Project dark", the first scenes are already animated, but it really was much hard work behind it. yeah, and i still am not done with that. sigh, I can only dream of doing something professional like "Illusion of memory". But I don't give up trying.
Maybe you could tell me more about your method of making animations?
