C O M M I S S I O N - # 2 1 Title: "Dark Angel"
Commission type: Character Illustration (on A4 Cardstock)
Total time: 6 hours

It's official. Shadow looks more sexier in armour... XXXD
Here is Twin's original design done by a friend of hers!
She requested that I draw him in custom made angelic armour. After doing a little research I came up with this! For some reason I forgotten to add in a strap to his right shoulder - looks like it'll magically attach itself!
Also I do apologise Twin for not darkening his armour as I suggested on the note - it didn't quite work out so I decided to give it a silver buff tone - the results speak for itself.
One last thing, I had a TON of a fun drawing this and I'm super pleased with how it came out in terms of my full render on this piece. Thank you Academy of Art for teaching me the right techniques to pop things in a out in any illustration.

Going by his expression, Shadow looks like he's ready to cast judgement on the poor sucker who's messed with him.
The only thing that bothers me is his left (the picture's right) shoulderpad. Compared to the other one, which looks round and flat, it looks awkward. Could it be because it's for his wing to come out of?

That's a valid point! It sticks out like a soar thumb doesn't it? The design could have been done better but I had to stick to a certain amount of hours for the given commission invested.

Sure!
I've been using graphite pencils for this project and much like all of my other commissions.
It's a combination of H, 2B, 3B, and 8B Faber Castel graphite pencils - pretty much your standard ones.
Also for the more precise linework I use a Draftsman's grade mechanical pencil - 0.5, 0.7 and 1mm range. Hope that helps!

I don't know if it just me but I notice something about his arm (left one of this image) it look a bit thin for some reason .-. I mean his muscle didn't even show up xD however i can only see it on his nearby shoulder.

I'm super pleased with how it came out Mily! Drawing the feathers took the longest but it was worth it. What I love about this commission is the amount of depth in the artwork - I played around with tonal levels for every element to make things fade and pop out - I just love how Shadow's face pops out so well in contrast to his elegant wings...
Oh and yes... He's super sexy... Take his armour off girls! XXXD

No no... XD Uhm... It's a tough one, and it's lovely to see so many people making the effort to illustrate the concept you've requested.
If I had to choose one I'd go for these entries in the following order:
1st (shame about the watermark! X_X;; lol)
2nd (technically I should pick one that has an equal balance in the portrayal of BOTH characters but this one seem to speak out to me for other reasons...! Style, technicalities, and presentation)
and these two together for 3rd place: (I simply enjoy the simplicity of these illustrations - the expressions are spot on for me - if I were to do Berian I'd go for a contrasting expression to Kim's - aka serious neutral).

The only thing that I ask is in future, when you have the opportunity to commission for a dynamic pose of the same character - would you prefer this version of wings or a variation to the horned one from the original? It is important to know that a little detail like that may have a impact on your story. Do let me know what you'd like next time round!
And goodness me, of course you can use it for whatever reason it may be - it's yours to keep and manipulate! In fact, now that you've completed the payment I shall link you to the HIGH RES version - use it if you're plan to print on paper (letter or poster size) it'll still look good without the pixelization!

I will remember that. It's important to remember the small details as they can tip the scale in a bunch of different ways. And the high rez version? Goodness me, the sexiness intensifies! I must say the lighter armour looks better on him, in the original story, his armour was a light gold, but I think this Silver-ish buff should look good on him. Also I love his expression, this is the face he would make to get his student Selena (she's my profile pic right here) to behave. I just love this all around.
