I can't help but be inspired by this amazingly talented artist and a wonderful sibbling friend. ^^ Yes her name is Alexa PΓ‘sztor (aka Kaoru-chan) and I'm sure many of you already know who she is. = ) She really helped me a lot in many ways, even though we don't talk much or keep in touch a lot, she has her ways to keep me going with my work (I actually like to keep it that way, it's somewhat special from a sibbling context... = )...) *thumbs up* I think it's already been more than 2 years since we knew each other through a Sonic messageboard. She told me how great my SA2 Fan-Comic was and stuff! LOL! XXD I was amazed myself because of getting a compliment from an already highly talented artist such as herself.I was honoured actually! XXD When she wrote to me on how she liked SA2 Fan-Comic and the concepts behind Shadow I was just stunned. XD At that time two of my greatest inspirations were Eva (who did the incredibly awesome and cartoony Sonic Adventure comic ^^) and Mayshing (who was simply a multi-talented pro at art! LOL! XXD) and they were people I was awed at everytime. But did you ever get that feeling when you've reached a relatively high level of respect within a community and you get a compliment from an artist who is extremely awesome both talent and personality-wise? XD Well that was my feeling when Kaoru-chan first knew about me as an artist.
^_^Anyway right now I'm truly honoured to be considered a sibbling friend of hers because look at her work, just look at it... *smile*
From an artist's point of view it is an amazing experience and journey to watch her art evolve from a very good level to a professional level. It's even more awesome when your friend (who has the talent) tells you that he/she has an ambition to be working in the anime/manga industry when they grow up! XXD Imagine the possibilities and potential when your friend has both the ambition and talent to make a dream come true? Isn't that wonderful? = )
Anyway Alexa still has studies to finish off and after her graduation, whatever she does after that, I'll be there to support her on it! XD ^_^ And I hope you will too. = ) *thumbs up*

I noticing something kinda funny
nothing to do with you art but anatomy
and clothing of the girl on the piece of paper
since she has that tail it brings the skirt up...which makes
that an opening for the perverts
pay no mind to that statement anyway
so far im liking how you protrayed this and made a detail
working station for her. The perspective is good, specially the
transition between panels on the first page. And on the second page
the art she was drawin is in a different coloring style then the way
YOUR drawing the comic, that was a nice lil thing to do

ok. *deep breath* First off all, I'm so sorry for not getting back to you till now. I wasn't really around dA lately. On top of everything, I had a huge written exam in history today, featuring the past 4 years' material. -___- ew... ANYHOW, now with a relieved state of mind I shall comment on this, because I wanted to do so for WEEKS but I just felt incapable of putting into words my thoughts. Shall give it a try now~
This was such an amazing surprise to me, Elson. You cannot imagine....... The moment I saw this, I had a series of memoriable flashbacks. I remembered the time when I first encountered your works online. The SA2 fancomic. And also other little short comicstips featuring your online buddies. :3 When I saw those, I thought something like "Whoa.....It'd be so awesome to see my character in a little comic such as this, drawn by the awesome Darkspeeds....*__*"....hehe, yep, I was sorta like that. ;D *fangirl*
So I remembered all that and a really warm feeling filled my chest. Nostalgia........ n__n you know how it happens sometimes, triggered by the most random things......well, this lovely little comic certianly wasn't random. No, not at all....
You know, I just love how you pay attention to details...o_o btw, I'd totally love to have that desk irl. x33 And the tools, omg!!!!! xD n___n copics, colourpencils, ink.....and the toothbrush!! I almost fell off my chair when I saw that! "No way! He remembered that??!" - I thought. <3 and peachpink for Kaoru's top....nyan~ x3 back when I created her, I never thought that a certian shade of pink would go so well with her dark-violet fur. n.n~ and the star on her cheek!! I can't say it enough times: you're amazing, Elson! n__n
And so this is where you pasted my picture....couldn't have imagined a better place for it!! ;3
But seriously. This is me. It's incerdible how...you manage to bring out me inside Kaoru.
As time passes, she grows more and more apart from me, which is not an exactly bad thing....but it's important not to forget where it all began. I remember creating my Lyla for this exact reason: Kaoru wasn't me anymore. She is more like...the imaginary me, the girl with certian personality characteristics I wanted to have, but can't. But when I think about Lyla...she became the other extreme - too serene, while Kaoru is tough and spunky.
But I came to a conclusion: I'm both. Or so I hope...n_n
Big bro Elson....well, I can't find better words: thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I meant in the description, of course. LOL. Anyhow, it was super nice of you to make this for her! She really is a sweetheart, and I love her art. She's definately the type of artist to look up to, I think. And her drawing themes are so lovely! I bet she'll love this. Cute way of drawing up what it might be like when she actually draws stuff, heh. Good use of her actual art, too. Nice use of color. Awesome way of expressing your gratitude to the inspiration she's offered you.

Amen, Elson! AMEN! XD Well, what can I say? This is a pretty kind gift to her! The layout of the room looks very useful for an artist, because if you need inspiration, you can just gaze at nature outside the window! Quite relaxing, I might say! The last panel makes it all even better. That sudden hug at her drwing is just plain adorable.

When Alexa commented on this piece today she told me how I remembered about the toothbrush... And then I thought... "Hey didn't someone ask me about the toothbrush?"... And now I remembered that it was you! LOL! XXD
Yes a toothbrush is really useful for traditional drawings, in fact pros use it for a very good reason. ^_~ One of the pro techniques that Alexa uses is the 'splatter'. You use white ink and dap a little bit of it with the toothbrush. Then to create a spotty (feather radius) effect you use your finger and thumb to 'flick' the white ink on page. That is how she creates the spotty effects that may represent a 'snow/frost/powder' or distortion on her pages. ^^

This style, which heavily features hatching.. i really love it. :yay: (i also love hatching when its used well. X3 ) You use this style in your Sonic Riders comic yes?
I wish i could describe this better, but i like the choice of perspective on the first panel, and the way the rays of light stream through the window. ^^
The smile on her face, after her session of drawing is something i think alot of us can relate to. It makes you feel great to get postive results in your art. X3
