Back at the start it was easy to see
No one to own to, nowhere to be
Deep in the heartlands a sad memory calls to me (calls to me)
Fretful horizons, worrisome skies
Tearful misgivings burning your eyes
Yearnings unanswered, reckon the wage you pay
To recapture the innocent age
My half of an art trade with ~EMOrtalMindfreak . I REALLY wanted to draw their two main characters after browsing through their gallery and learning a little about the story.
Tanpaw apparently leaves Frostpaw for a tom from another clan, leaving him brokenhearted and still sadly dedicated to the memory of their love. I wanted to recapture the "innocent age" of their relationship when they were still 'paws and were in the beginning stages of love.
Anyway, so here they are as Tanpaw and Frostpaw under the cover of skypelt when their love was new and their lives were simple and good.

It was a sad backstory - but I've always been a fan of tragic love, even in my own stories, so I was drawn to the couple even more because of that.

Yup. Tragic romances are one of my favorite to write.
I was thinking of adding a little bit of tragedy in the story I'm writing right now.

I have enough tragedy in the story I'm planning - I just haven't gotten far enough in to really get deep into yet. Working on continuing slowly, so I'll get there eventually as long as I can keep working on it. ^^

I wasn't even supposed to post my story here, I was worried that someone might claim the idea as their own. I was eventually convinced otherwise. But I still have my doubts.

I know that feeling... but since it's a fan fiction of an already written series anyway I don't feel like I need to protect it as much. If it was a COMPLETELY original work, then I wouldn't dare post it here as easily. :/

Exactly. At first I was reluctant to post it, but I eventually gave in due to my story being a fan-fiction. However, since I am merely using the idea and not exactly the 'canon' characters, I am still on the lookout for anyone who may claim the idea as their own.

Very true... I'm in the same boat there. My own characters, my own plot-line with a distinctive character and history to go along with it. Unfortunately you always have to be on the look out for that kind of thing.

I'm pretty happy with how it turned out - I enjoyed drawing it a lot and it went a long ways towards making me happy with my cat drawing. :3
