Description          In a faraway junkyard, a single boy, Gus, stumbled through the garbage looking for something to complete his science project. He had already found some useful items, and a lot of circuitry from broken electronics.

Suddenly, without a single warning, Gus had tripped on something, falling into a tunnel that wasn't there before. He was sent spiraling down into the dark abyss as the tunnel closed behind him.

When Gus woke up, he found himself in a cave with many technological objects of foreign design. It was as if an alien had lived here long ago, and had forgotten to bring their ship with them. A brilliant light shone from the middle of the room, encased in a glassy jar. Gus was immediately drawn to the light, walking towards it.

Without knowing why, he instinctively reached out to touch the jar. As soon as his fingers made contact with it, he felt a shock go through the entirety of his body. Squinting in pain, he felt the shock all over him, never leaving. He opened his eyes after a few seconds, and saw his fingers had become chitinous and stiff.

The change spread throughout the rest of his body, turning his arms and legs into insectoid limbs, and his torso into chitinous plates. From his sides sprouted two new limbs, two new arms. Finally, the change spread to his head, as the sides of his mouth split open into mandibles, his lower jaw still functioning. His eyes turned black as the lenses split and became segmented. His hair fell out, and two antennae sprouted from his head.

Although his body had been changed, his mind had not. However, the change was still not done with him. Suddenly, he felt his memories being ripped apart and stitched back together, as he turned into a her. Her body became slimmer, her chest grew two feminine bulges, and her hips became thicker and more curvaceous. During all this, two thin membranes were growing out of her back, forming a wide, majestic shape. Finally, the change neared its' end.

She felt a push out of her lower body, and felt behind her. Suddenly, she realized that what was growing out of her now was one of the most iconic traits of a bug, a large abdomen. Her body was wracked with pain, and her mind grew weary. As the abdomen pushed out of her, she felt her consciousness slipping, and gradually, she started to fall asleep.

When she woke up, she had found herself in the middle of the room, the glassy jar no longer there. Quickly after this, she realized that she could see clearly even without light. Her eyes scanned the room, and saw many eggs on the ground. She remembered what had happened to her, and realized that those eggs were hers. She was the queen of her very own hive.

But stranger still, she did not feel opposed to the idea. Her father had always been abusive, and her mother, despite trying her best for her, did not do anything to stop it. Finally, her body was much too strange to live her old life, even if she still had her old memories. So, with some simple thoughts, she cast aside her old life, her old name, her old past. From now on, she was the queen of her hive.

I actually really like this. Normally I like the transformations where people hate their destination and the journey, but it seems that my brain cast that aside for the more relatable ending. Throwing away your past and name and identity to be yourself for what you are now. And I like that, even if it's cliche. Also bugs are awesome, I've always found them disgustingly, majestically, fascinating.
