Description One of the little kittens we found inside our back stairs, a week ago. I have decided to name him Fumi, because he is very kind and sweet tempered, just like my friend, Fumi.

I don't know how much you would thank me, after hearing me actually pronounce it. *laughs* Ever hear a real Minnesotan accent? Anyhoo, glad you're not offended.

Haha and so, I saw this video [link]
I'm sure you don't mispronounce my (or this kitty's) name!
I'm looking forward to new photos of him, thanks

Hahaha! That's a cute video. We do have very long goodbyes that actually last for hours. It's called the "Minnesota Goodbye". Altho, the man's accent really isn't very Minnesotan. Our vowels are very long. Sometime in the future, I'll record me saying some things and post it for you. It's silly. Here's a better example of our accent: [link]

Glad you don't believe your name (or the kitty's) is mispronounced. ^___^

Will post more photos of him soon. Sorry for the late reply, I have been really busy taking care of him and his two sisters, along with my other 4 cats.

Glad you like it, Christie! Oh "Minnesota Goodbye" reminds me of my cousins...because we often do like that when we move along
So I feel familiarity with people from MN. (not only that but of course, you're very kind!) And I found that one of my neighboring cities has a sister city relationship with Duluth
I see, this guy's video is so interesting...what does the word 'uff da' mean? Seems that it's an expression of Norwegian origin.

^___^

Oh glad to hear that, haha it sounds hard but you feel pleasure in taking care of them, surely!

Well, it's nice to know you feel a little familiarity with one of our customs. And, thank you. You, yourself are very kind as well.

Duluth has a sister city in Japan? That is fantastic! Duluth is absolutely beautiful, especially in the fall. Many people visit there in the fall to see the colors change. Duluth is quite famous for it. Altho, the entire state is like this in the fall, there's just something about going to lake Superior and walking along its shores, looking at all the beautifully colored leaves. Here's an example of the variety of leaf colors we get here: [link] Even tho it's quite north of where I live, here in the state capital, if you ever know anyone who will be visiting Duluth, please let me know. I'll rush up to meet them, bringing things to take back for you.

The word, "uff da"? Hmm... It's a term used when you are surprised. One example is when you're trying to lift something that is surprisingly heavy. As you heft it up, you would just say "Uff da!". Or, when my (almost) 7 year old niece, Fiona, runs and gives me a hug, knocking me back. At the point of impact, I would say "Uff!" -Trust me, she does this a lot, too.

Well, it is not easy, but I can say without a shadow of a doubt that it is entirely worth it & makes me extremely happy. So, you're quite right.

It must be a wonderful place! My pleasure and thank you too

Yes, the city called 'Isumi' does. Oh such a beautiful landscape...there is not a lot of natural vegetation in my city, so I have to excursion when I want to relax in nature...I'd love to go there if given the chance

I see, it's an exclamation isn't it? Haha that's so lovely, I relive my childhood automatically when I play with young children

Yeah they grow up fast, and would rub their trunk against your body..."meow, you're already ours!"

DarlingChristie In reply to larksgar [2013-06-18 01:41:50 +0000 UTC]

You're welcome!

Isumi? I'll have to look that up. Yes, Minnesota is quite lush with vegetation. Everywhere. The summer air smells wonderful because of the vegetation. Sorry you have to travel in order to relax in nature. That would be so weird and almost unnatural if I had to do that. The nearest lake is just a short walk away from my house. I sure hope you do end up having the chance to visit. I think you would really it.

Yes, it's an exclamation. Not many people say the whole thing anymore, just "Uff!" most of the time, now. But, we do definitely say it. Hahaha! I really like playing with young children. It's so nice that I have many opportunities to do so, since my cousins keep having more and more babies, as well as my own little sister and oldest brother.

Hahaha! Yes, they do grow up very fast. And, yes they have basically said I'm already theirs. Including the newest little kitties. It's so sweet!

Oh! By the way, here is a little video of Fumi, Cali, and Misa, where you can hear my voice and Minnesota accent. Sorry, I giggle a lot in it and my voice is pretty high, naturally. Hopefully, it's not too annoying for you. [link]

Oh sounds wonderful You're right, usually I can look at only part of it >_<
Yes I'd love to

Haha I just watched that video! Your voice is so beautiful, I think
And five cats - they're really adorable! So, as for your pronunciation, it's perfect (I felt like that you called me haha)
Oh I heard that you said 'Uff da!' in it I'm glad to see your lovely cats, thank you so much for uploading my dear friend!

I'll try to post lots of pictures of everywhere I go, here in Minnesota (which is mainly the twin cities) so you can see all of the lush greenery around here.

Oh my! Well, thank you. My voice has always embarrassed me. You are very kind!
There were 2 cats that did not make it into the video because they were napping: AnaBaby and Momo. Too bad you didn't get to see them. And, my pronunciation was/ is correct? YAY! *does happy dance* It must have been a bit odd for me to be calling to my little kitten instead of you, directly. And, yes I certainly did say "Uff da!" Oops! It just slips out without me realizing I said it. Glad you liked the video! ^___^

I'm telling the truth, Christie!
Your cheerful voice makes me happy

I see. If the occasion arises, I'd like you to film a video that they appear
Yes, I was glad to hear it! Oh I thought you said so all the way for telling me how to use 'Uff da'
Yeah I love it so much, thanks again!

Thank you! Very glad it makes you happy.

Yes, absolutely! As soon as the opportunity arises, I will certainly make a video where all 7 cats are in it so you can see all of them.

Hahaha! Yeah... Wish I could claim that I was being thoughtful to instruct you on the proper timing to use the expression. So sorry!!

How wonderful!!
My father used to sing Blowin' in the Wind when he was young, and I was really shocked when I listened to The Times They Are a-Changin..
Oh I'm envious of you

Ah I'm ashamed of my long tongue! Sorry, but I really enjoy conversation with you

Oh wow, that's really awesome! Β And, the lyrics to The Times They Are A Changin' are fantastic. Β  Β Seriously, there is no reason to be envious of me at all.

And, you certainly have nothing to be ashamed of. Β It's really fun to interact with you and I quite enjoy it! Β
