Description Funny Story; they just met that day and started hanging out. I asked them to do a more romantic pose for me after getting the normal poses. I thought it would be funny to see these hard ass soldiers being sweet.

I had set up my portable lights there at the 2015 Wizard Comicon in the Oregon Convention Center near Down Town Portland, Oregon to capture some of the interesting people willing to pose for us in there in their costumes, like it was Halloween all over again. Many of which were just hanging out waiting to get to see the costume contest, or be in the contest to show off their creativity. If you can identify who they are pretending to be you are a true geek yourself.

For lighting I was using an AlienBee 800 on slave to the right, so other shooters could trigger it as well to help with their built in flash, but they could not seem to get it to work right with their Canon cameras. I also had an Einstein 640 off to the left controlled with my Cyber Commander. They were powered with a Paul Buff's Vagabond lithium battery pack, which did last for over 1,000 flashes on a single charge with the modeling lamps turned off. The strobes were pointed away from the subjects into silver reflective umbrellas on the left and right with me shooting in between them. Although, this image needed some processing to correct the underexposure, since the studio lights did not flash. I stopped to take some shots inside the costume contest hall, and when I came back out to use the studio lights again I had put the Cyber Commander back on my hot-shoe, but forgot to drop the built-in flash.

If you want to download the full resolution image file you will see how clear and sharp these images are at full resolution with no visible camera noise with my Nikon D810 with a 28mm - 300mm lens shot at 40mm, 1/125 at F14 at ISO 64.
