This is a close up shot of the head of my special edition Washburn Monterey Custom Studio acoustic/electric 6 string guitar in the studio w/Janessa Wright's fingers. She's from Astoria, Oregon. Out of any other guitars I've seen over the decades I love this shape above all else. Few have an oval sound hole and I love this head shape. The back has more of a curve to it that other guitars as well. This dark wood grain is also unique that was not stained to get this color. I bought this new back in early 2000, but it was made back the mid 1980's. The music store had ordered this back then, but his shop burned down before he took delivery, and this sat in storage for over a decade before he was able to open a new shop and put this out for sale. He wanted $2k for this, but I talked him down to $1,200. This has been one of my favorite art purchases.
