Another commission completed! Yay! This little seductress is an Elven rogue/assassin and her name is Azaelyn Vel’rose. She was born from the creative mind of Heather Steele and belongs entirely to her. It was a pleasure doing business with Heather and I may be doing more pictures for her and/or her husband in the future, so I hope all my watchers enjoy her wonderful characters as well.
This took me entirely too long to complete thanks to my work schedule. I am very thankful for Heather’s patience, it made this a lot easier and more pleasant to complete. There’s nothing worse than being pressured to finish a picture so I’m glad that wasn’t the case here. Despite delays though, I am actually pretty happy with how this one turned out. Her hair gave me some issues (I’m not used to coloring black hair) but after some tweaking I eventually came to like it. The background was thrown together spur of the moment, but I kinda like how it turned out. I hope everyone else enjoys the pic too!

You do just as well on surface elves as drow and that really shows diversity in talent. I think she's sexy; love the "come" hither look, but I adore her outfit, especially the cool shirt that displays her shaplier assets. She reminds me of a tough, kick-your-ass version of Arwen. This is great.

I really don't do anything different with my shading. I think the improvment comes from the new computer monitor. My older one was so old it wasn't picking up colors properly (especially darker ones), which is why everything looked pale and faded. It looked ok to me on my crappy monitor, but to everyone else it looked kinda washed out and the shading never picked up too well.
Now that I've got a new monitor though, I can see the difference and can now make the colors richer and the shading deeper.

It's a lot harder to color light skinned chars than drow skinned chars. 
It used to be the other way around but I drew drow so much it's really hard to get the color right on light skin now... Or maybe I'm just out of practice in general. I don't get to do art too much nowadays.
