Description Name: ED Phantom Malice
Barn Name: Phantom or Tommy
Gender: Stallion
Age: 3 yrs
Type: Dressage type
Feathers: Medium
Projected height: 16.2hh - 16.3hh
Colour: Sooty Bay Tobiano
Markings: High whites, tobiano white, stripe
Genotype: EE/Aa/nSty/TOTO
Discipline: Dressage, Halter, Liberty, maybe even some trick training…
Temperament: Phantom is a stallion who exudes pride. He knows perfectly well that his flashy high-knee action and stunning looks never fails to turn heads, which in turn leads to an ever growing ego. Phantom is a quick, keen learner and loves to perform, but he does not like being told what to do. Although if you ask him quietly but firmly, he will consider your request (9 times out of 10 he will quite willingly comply). But you must know that whenever you are around Phantom, you must never lose your temper with him as he is one big slab of testosterone-filled muscle, and I assure you, you will NOT win. Phantom tends to like female riders more than male riders as most of them seem to have more patience, and their soft voices seem to soothe the stallion when he gets agitated...
Movement: This stallion has lovely natural paces. He has a big walk, balanced uphill canter, and an expressive floating trot. With the right rider and training, Phantom should quite easily jump up the competition levels. As long as no-one tries to ‘break’ his proud disposition, Phantom will be sure to hypnotize the crowds as he floats across the arenas.

The morning air was crisp and fresh around Willowglen Downs. Adelaide had heard about the Ballovali auction and had convinced Emerald Downs’ senior rider Matthew, that a Ballovali would be a top edition to the up and coming performance centre. As they approached the auction ring, Adelaide looked around, quite a crowd had gathered for the opportunity to take home one of these magnificent creatures. Adelaide was buzzing with excitement, she never thought she would ever have the chance to buy a Ballovali. She had seen them before at competitions when she as younger, mesmerised by their movement, back then Adelaide never thought she would ever be able to handle such a powerful creature. But now she was determined to show Emerald Downs, as well as the world, that even though she’s 23 she has the capabilities to bond with and train her very own Ballovali and make it a champion.
A couple of yearlings had already gone under the hammer, they were now someone else’s pride and joy. Matthew had seen some future quality in those first two, granted, they were lovely young horses, but Adelaide was looking for something special, and the first two yearlings that went through the ring just didn’t give off the right vibes...
Adelaide was looking around her at Willowglen Downs when the third yearling was lead into the auction ring. Something dragged Adelaide’s focus towards the colt, her eyes widened at the sight of the young tobiano and a smile pulled at the corners of her lips, she had to get this one. “Matt! This colt’s got something really special, we’ve got to buy him!” she whispered, she had promised Matthew that she would let him do the bidding, because let’s face it, if Adelaide was allowed to bid, she’d buy every yearling here. But this colt was something else, the way he moved, the way he held himself with such pride, you didn’t come across these types very often...
Matt looked at the colt before glancing at Adelaide, “Him?” he said with a puzzled look, “What’s so special about him?” Adelaide semi-glared at her senior rider before clearing her throat, “What’s so special about him?? Look at him!! Look at how he moves, doesn’t he just float over the ground?” she replied. Adelaide was starting to get worried, if she couldn’t convince Matthew about this colt, then her life would be over! Well, not really, but she’d be very upset for a long time.
“Well he does look to have nice movement... But he’s arrogant, you can tell he thinks he’s god’s gift. You don’t want that, they’re too hard to handle those ones...” Matthew’s voice softened towards the end of his sentence, Adelaide knew she was losing the battle, she looked at the proud colt again, she could hear other people bidding. She had to make one last plea, “Come on Matt! You yourself said that I have an uncanny way with horses! Just give me a chance! Give him a chance! He’ll put Emerald Downs on the map, I know he will! Please, just give him a chance!” Adelaide didn’t want to think about how she looked, she was begging for a horse! Out of all the horses for sale in the world that she could buy, she was begging for this tobiano colt. she knew he was something special and she was going to prove it, if only he could be hers... Matthew looked at Adelaide, he heard the auctioneer call the first call, ‘maybe she could handle him...’ he thought. The second call hung in the morning air, Matthew looked at the colt again, “Third and final call!” boomed the auctioneer. Adelaide frowned and rested her chin on the fence, until out of the corner of her eye she saw Matthew look over at the auctioneer and raise his hand...

Well, first of all...

Secondly, wow! This guy is sooo much fun to draw! His markings and colouring were a bit tricky to do, but in the end, I'm very pleased with the finished outcome!
But my god! that braided mane took FOREVER!! Methinks I need to find an easier way to do braids lol

Anyways, this is my bid for one of Willowglen Downs stunning Ballovali horses!
