Description Map elements to use for city maps. If you use them, please let me know and make sure to credit me.

Note: I have updated the license to allow use of the icons. Would not make much sense otherwise.

That requires some tinkering with Photoshop or similar tools. Sorry.

Very cool, I urgently need to create a map of the settlements and no time to paint it. The set was very useful.
Thanks!

Nice maps you got there. 100% opposite to this style, though.

The buildings are totally cute. Thanks for sharing them! But can I ask for permission to use them for photomanipulations here on DA? I imagine how cool they would look as some kind of kids' toys or wallhangers.

Hi Arlesienne,

the license allows you to do anything with them, even for commercial purposes. Still, I appreciate you asking for permission. If you do anything with these pictures, please post a link here as a comment.

Thank you a lot, of course I'll do. I see crediting as simply doing justice to those fantastic and generous artists. Merry Christmas! I prepared a present for fellow deviants, I'd be happy if you like it: fav.me/d6z1wtc .

So much easier to draw than grimly photorealistic buildings.

eelstork In reply to DarthAsparagus [2013-08-11 17:34:40 +0000 UTC]

I really dk what to say but... in case there is any confusion, I wasn't being ironical, I actually do like these. Why refer grimly photorealistic buildings?

Also I'm a big fan of TBS so I don't have a clear idea what these are meant for (or just for the general good?) but they do strike a chord so to speak : )

I thought your comment was nice - no worries, it did not come over as ironic.

What is TBS?

The images are meant to be used for drawing city maps - you can find examples in my gallery using them. I did them for myself but thought I could share them. It would be cool to see them in some other context one day.

Hehe I've been wanting to make my own TBS since I played a couple of good ones (Ravenmark and... mmh I forget, sadly).

But I got enough on my hands atm : F

Your maps, sketches, etc... are inspiring!

Actually, I have been thinking about using them for some kind of scrolling map in a game. Not that I have the time for such things but I was wondering whether they would be easy to position or not.

Mmh. I see 'no derivative works' here so I guess it's wise to ask for your permission!

Not sure about the scrolling part of this? Scrolling how, and why? I guess you mean a big big map, like a terrain for a game (aka "level map").

Looking from the opposite end (mine is, "I have no time for much anything other than such things" haha) ...

I see no major impediment as to how easily this could be used as part of a game map, however especially with respect to smaller elements (small bridges, towers etc...) it would have to be a 2-layer map for lack of ground under the elements. Of course a 2 layer map is more flexible (and slower to use) than conflating the ground and buildings; i'm assuming that RPG-maker and similar should support it out of the box (more into 3D games so, drawing on common-sense to make assumptions).

Me fancy doing a kind of 3D rendition of these, if you don't mind of course (I'm not turning it into a project of any kind, just an itch )

So what are all these pretty maps and graphics for? Are you a professional artist or mainly having fun?
