Grand sphere review
isn't it a wonderful feeling ? not only finding a Free to play game that you like but is soo well down it feels like it could had come from a big name company like sega , atlas or nintendo. Grand sphere maybe the first and only true RPG free to play game I come across . It's play style is a new to me making you switch your characters around making you have to think more about " how " you'll attack . First let me get the easy stuff out of the way . I posted many picture of this game so you know the artwork is AMAZING and anime realistic water brush style, and the music is just as good , Very upbeat and it sounds like something from a final fantasy reboot of 1-6 when it's all medieval . While all your units are human .. and sadly mostly girls ( I say sadly cause it makes me feel like a perv) the game draws a lot from mythical creatures like Fenrir , Goliath .. when is the last time you heard that name .. Goliath the titan . Now for game play . The closest thing I can think of is the early persona games. You have 4 units and 1 friend unit .All with the 5 element Fire earth water light and darkness , -guessing the fire nation attacked the air nation all RPG games - instead of your base attack commands you're given SPHERES . Spheres are like your magic commands. . but they're don't cost a dime , it's weird they come in random order but all your characters can use them so far there's 9 spheres'
Flash = does damage to all enemies
Blast = attack 2-5 times at random enemies
peirce = attack 1 enemie ignoring defence
heal one = heals units using sphere
Heal all = needless to say
Attack boost = all units attack are increased for 1 turn
Charge = unit's attack is 3 times more powerful next turn
Defence boost = unit's take 50% of all damage 2 would reduce all damage to 1
and reflect = one turn reflect all damage back to sender
your units also have a skill they can use.. like in more Free to play games you need to fill a bar by attack to get this skill , most of them are just do major damage to 1 enemy but some can heal and do multi hits . Also sphere can be used to summon monsters . you can summon creatures but filling a burst bar , these summons can do damage to an enemy before you turn starts so it's a good way to help take out tough enemies - using one sphere gives you one burst point . when you have five you can summoning a level 1 monster , 10 points gives you a level 2 which does more damage and most of them have a side effect like 25% to stun and level 3 cost 15 points ... and it's basically a nuke ... soo yea. now it does some cheap game play giving you monsters that are weak for free and you need " gems " to get the really good ones .. but gem COME FROM EVERYWHERE you can go to a pvp match win 5 fights and get 20 gems . doing a boss raid - basically 4 players working together - to get medel to buy 50 gems for free . logging in gives you 100 gems the only reason you'll buy gems is if you don't want to work for them . So it's a great looking game that has a cool fighting system great music and keeps giving you ingame currency so you can get more of their ingame items . I would give this game a 9/10
