Even as a puppy, LB had been a cheerful dog. Always in good spirits regardless of the circumstances presented to him

Background:
LB's mother was owned by the Volkov family whom, during the height of The Bosnian crisis, escaped to America. The modest family consisted of a father, mother, two small twin girls with one on the way along with the family dog, Lilia. The family scraped together what meager funds they could, even selling the father's small wood workshop, to purchase tickets to ride the withdrawing zeppelins. The father even used his meager reputation as a skilled carpenter to obtain papers for Lilia. After what seemed like an eternity, the family finally made it to their new home.

Old St Joseph's church donated to assist the destitute foreign family in leasing a small cabin and the family begun forming their new life in Nome. With difficulty, due to their broken English, both parents found jobs within the town(the mother assisted at the bakery due to being with child and the father labored at the blacksmith) while the twins went to school as well as made friends. Lilia kept to mostly to herself seeing as she constantly had whispers uttered around her. The only dog that would force his way into her aloof bubble was an energetic Greenland dog mix by the name of Champ. As much as Lilia tried to maintain herself distance, Champ managed to find a spot in her heart.

The reunion bore fruit and the pleased pair were the proud parents of a healthy litter of 5. The pups were an assortment of colors, but the Volkov family took the most to the dark runt. The other pups were given away as gifts to a few of the town folks and one even went to be the watchdog of the blacksmith. Time past and LB longer looked like the runt of the litter, hence he was the only one to equal his mother in height.

LB currently resides with his mother and the Volkov family.
