In the castle, the lady Belarith sat upright in her bed, her faithful nurse, Chuterbuck, ready to brush her hair, cooed soft platitudes to sooth the maiden's worries.

Now in her chamber Belarith
sat upright in her bed
Her nurse Chutterbuck softly cooed
to soothe her worried head.
The Countess took her leave of them,
bidding the girl 'sweet dreams',
Belarith had a nagging sense
that all was not as it seems.
