I am just in the midst of reading this and what has struck me especially is that the flying creatures are not necessarily dragons in the book. Your illustration is one of the very few that depicts them in such a way that Eowyn's ability to decapitate it is plausible.

I have to agree withΒ Forcedlactationlover Β this piece is a little bit inaccurate, but it does stay true to the spirit of the moment and the characters I think. It's very similar to a tapestry in my opinion in how it reflects the characters in a figurative, not necessarily literal way.
Over all definitely very pleasing to look at and a great depiction of one of the most bad ass chicks in the whole series!

It's quite beautifully done. Both Eowyn and the Witch King of Angmar are well drawn and very much look their parts. The only quibble I have is a small one. As I read the scene, the fell beast had landed before Dernhelm revealed that she was Eowyn. Immediately upon the revelation, she beheaded the fell beast. But what you have is way too good to deny or ignore. Anyone should be proud to have produced such a drawing. My admiration and felicitation go with it to you. Even Merry looks right.

My favorite scene in the book. Nicely done. I love the composition of this with Merry and the wounded Theoden in the background. Eowyn and the details of her outfit look gorgeous.

The guy from Angmar looks great, and the Nazgul design is cool, and Eowyn is awesome. All-around it's a great vision of that part of the story. I specifically need to compliment you on the clarity of the foreground vs the vagueness of the more distant horizon. An effective illustration technique and I think you've made brilliant use of it here.

Amazing work - it's interesting that this exact scene from the book has so many amazing illustrations. Can't think of any other LOTR scene which has such a great references! There's only one thing I'd change here - I can't stand the view of the dying horse (it's just me, because it surely is painted well).
