Nice pic but it's sad you didn't wrote on the flag " Par le Roy du Ciel " ( by the King of Heaven) as it was originally written

Do you believe that she was born on the year of the shadow dragon. If so, what month?

The red dragon which follows the year of the blue or white rabbit. If her day of birth certain. Sixty-year cycle.

Just made this comment on another artist's rendition of La Pucelle, but it is just as fitting for this one:
Nice...! It's refreshing to see an artistic image of Jehanne that reflects the historical person - very rarely is there an attempt to accurately portray the Battle Standard, nor the full armor. The strong and defiant facial expression is also well done. Too often the Maid of Orleans is portrayed as a soft and reluctant warrior - when history tells a completely different story.

The illustration is done with a completely different style - yours has a majesty in it that stands out on its own - but the other is a painting by RaynalJacquemin

Is there any way I could get you to inscribe and autograph your magnificent Joan of Arc painting? I'm going to purchase the 20"x30" art print.
kind regards

Possibly a strange and impertinent question, but hear me out. I'm looking to sketch out a painting of Joan of Arc as a small background detail in a comic I'm doing. I wouldn't ever just copy/paste your artwork for that, of course, but I'd like to sketch it out along the same composition, if that's fine.

You did a magnificent drawing of Joan of Arc. I think it awesome that you reflected her sad dead , in the reflection on her armor. I really like the details of the mist of the army in the background, the armor on her and the sword that she is carrying.
You did indeed do her justice. She is one of the most important people in the history of France as well as in European history of great people.
You did a great job on this. Well done.

All hail dashinvaine, I have an intense need to acquire a LARGE format print of this masterpiece to frame and display with pride on a wall for everyone I know to see. Can we working something out? Au nom de Jehanne, thanks!

Bravo! Excellent technical/historical fidelity in the armor and banner. She obviously means business. The reflections of fire and the entire local situation in her armor is a brilliant touch. I think Jehanne would/does like it.

The history told and retold about her since the beginning has largely been invented for political purposes.
The only solid evidence is the presence of an unnamed woman at the siege of Orléans.
She was not burnt at the stake, but another girl (strangled beforehand).
Mrs Joan can be traced a few years later in Cologne, Trier, Arlon.

Was she a hero or not?

She is mainly a legend created for political reasons during the 100-years war, and used without interruption since then by all political parties (mainly the more nationalistic) to the point of being believed stubbornly by people who satisfy themselves with superficial made-up "history" -- those living in France have no choice to know the truth, as the real story is not told there.

Hey there Mister-Crool, if you would like to read what eye-witnesses said about Joan at her trial of vindication, you can read their testimonies here: www.stjoan-center.com/Trials/n…
Mark Twain studied all available records before writing his book entitled, "Personal Recollections of Joan of Arc." The project took him about 12 years I think. You might enjoy it. There is truly a wealth of documentation about her existence, her words and her exploits.
She was a remarkable person with a very deep faith in God and a love for her people.

Yes, clearly. The only historical fact is the presence of a woman at the siege of Orleans.
