Ah, the war hammer, that's possibly my favorite medieval weapon. There is something really guttural about a war hammer with a flat end and a spike for penetrating armor... almost better than a battle-axe or even a mace.  Wouldn't want to see one used, that is for sure.  All these medieval weapons were really brutal and required much physical strength and endurance to wield effectively.  


Nowadays you just give the peasants automatic rifles and send them forth, ha ha.

A FEW?  So many Russians, wherever are we going to bury them all?  Or in your case, praise them all.  Probably the best non-sword weapon, superbly drawn.

Great to see some Lucern hammers, its my favorite weapon from the era. Great painting.
