Description Full view for full level of detail... blurred a bit without it.

A wizard's familiar is getting familiar with dessert while the master is occupied.

Started as a simple morph of a bearded dragon (I miss the ones I owned before I moved, excellent pets.) As with almost everything I draw for fun, the background developed around what would've otherwise been just a sketch.

0.5mm drafting pencil, B lead.

This caught my eye in my DeviantWatch the second I saw it! Funny enough, I was sitting with my Bearded dragon Laghain when it appeared! I must say, your understanding of how shadows and textures work is absolutely superb! Your use of a probable light source certainly gives realism to this fantastic fantasy image! Even the background holds amazing detail that is both lovely and pleasing to look at! You also have a great understanding of reptilian anatomy! Oh, how I envy your art skills right now!

Wow! Great work on the shadowing, it's very detailed and consistent throughout the drawing, by that I mean that the positions of the light sources are predictable from the shadows and the shadows aren't jumping all over the place. The shadowing also brings out fine details on the creature and the background, like the muscles on the legs and the depth differences on the face. Detailing is fantastic, with a ton of detail put into the creature, the bowl and pretty much all of the surrounding area, you really payed attention to detail on this one, there's so much details like the skulls on the bookshelf in the backroom, the book on the foreground, the texture of the table and the list goes on, but all of it create a feeling that this room could really exist in some fantasy world with all of its details. To speak the truth this is fantastic, I haven't been on this site for long, but this is the best piece of art I've seen on this site so far, congratulations on making such a great drawing! (psst, submit this to some groups so you can get the views, comments and favs you deserve.)
