Viggo and his friendsHugin and Mugin are also valravn, but they have only devoured the hearts of mere peasants and low ranking soliders, unlike Viggo, who devoured the hearts of many young children, as well as the heart of a prince child.
This gives them raised intelligence and an elongated lifespan, as well as the ability to cause very minute illusions to aid Viggo.

Viggo: *Raises the brow at the sudden word change and chuckles* "Well, then, perhaps I can somewhat educate you on the subject matter~" *Pats to the spot besides him as the ravens look to Gertie with cocked heads* "I do not know much about other creatures, so perhaps you can teach me as well~"

Gertie: *Coughs not-so subtly and grins* Ahh, that'd be very helpful Mr. V! Please educate me! Hello ravens! *waves at them before taking a seat* Don't mind me! Haha, of course! I'd be happy to teach you 'bout my partner in crime here~~ *points at Tamachi who sits nonchalantly on her shoulder*
Tamachi: *Leaps off shoulder and goes to great Hugin and Munin*

Viggo: *Chuckles and gives a sly wink before petting Hugin and Munin* "You seen, crows have a more obnoxious tone to them, like this~" *Mimics a crows caw, causing Hugin and Munin to copy him* "And as for ravens, their voices are deeper, I suppose." *With a grin, he mimics a raven's croak, as his pets do the same* "Many more differences, such as ravens being the more intelligent, as well as being bigger and stronger. The largest of all corvids, we are~" *He cooed a bit to Gertie as he tilted his head in amusement to Tamachi* "And how did you come to meet your interesting little friend here, Lady Gertrude?"
Hugin/Munin: *They cautiously hop around Tamachi before receiving an approving look from Viggo. Then they try to mimic the little monkeys movements and sounds as a little return greeting*

Gertie: *laughs boisterously* That's really great! So much better than books. Very proud of your species aren't you? Though I can't deny that you guys really are quite, hmm, what would the word be? It's like, because of your confidence, you seem so much more amazing. *glances at Tamachi after he asked the question* Quite a sad tale actually. You see, before the circus, let's just say I didn't have a home. It was pure chance that I stumbled upon this little guy in an alley. *eyes turn sweetly sad* He was starving. And I was too. Not such a blessed life. Even though it would mean another mouth to feed, I took him. We were too similar for me to just leave him there. It would be like, abandoning my twin. *smiles brightly despite the thick tone her voice took* We survived though. And I'm content with that.
Tamachi: *Seems amused by the birds trying to copy him and plays around a bit. Flipping and bouncing on a leg.*

Viggo: *Chuckles softly* "Not nearly as proud as I make it look, I'm afraid." A little dove's coo came from Viggo's throat as he looked over to his raven friends who seemed to be happily interacting with the little orange monkey* "No home, you say? I suppose I can say I understand your situation, my lady, though food has never been an issue for us when we are able to scavenge off of things that no others but insects and rodents are willing to take. I am glad to hear you have pulled yourself out of such poverty and found a home here, as have I. Best if we are to forget the past and move onto a better future, yes? Even now, a creature usually hated and feared by humans sits here and converses with one as though there were no barriers~" *His tone, although optimistic, had a hint of sorrow to it, as though he secretly knew that his words were false*

Gertie: Heh, your voice is really nice though. I think it could put the uneasiest children to rest. Just put it in a music box and it would really be wonderful. I'd buy one myself. *pauses* Hmm, I scavenged like you did then. Taking what was thrown away. It was then I realized how many things people took advantage of. Yeah, getting into that lion cage was probably the best decision of my life despite this scar. Kinda like how it marked my body, it also marked an important step in my life. You must've had a hard life as well. But I won't judge you because of what you are. *shakes head* That's just stupid, especially at the Cirque. *notices the small sorrow in his voice, but doesn't pry* It's actually quite interesting, meeting all these different species. Things that I didn't quite know about but am willing to learn.

Viggo: *As Gertie complimented his voice, his smile suddenly faltered before quickly coming back up with a soft chuckle* "You flatter me, my lady. It is not the voice nor the appearance I would proud of, but the mind." *Nodding to Gertrude, he leaned back against his hands as his head tilted up to look up at the sky* "Even now, at the cirque, much food gets wasted. I try what I can to take what the others no longer want, but even I cannot eat so much in so little time!" *With a chuckle, he turned to Gertrude with a grin* "This cirque is a sanctuary for us all, then. Humans and creatures alike..." *Head tilting a bit in curiosity, he examined Gertrude from head to toe a bit before asking in an even more curios tone* "What species do you know of, my lady? Do you know of what I am?"

Gertie: *Isn't quick enough to catch the faltering smile* Ah~ you do have a beautiful mind, I admit. You know I bet, of many things besides "The Raven". *smiles* You strike me as one who craves knowledge. Not a bad quality to have at all~ Though us humans can't help but admire physical qualities as well. Call us vain if you will. *curls hair around her finger with a sigh* Heh. I remember digging through trash cans. *lip curls in disgust* I never want to have to go through that again. *imagines Viggo surrounded by food and snickers* Yeah, with all that gets wasted, you'd explode a million times over with all the food that would have to be eaten. *points pointer finger on bottom lip* I've met a spider, a wandering spirit, a witch, a kitsune, and seen many others. I've also read about quite a few creatures, mainly the popular ones like the Phoenix or dragons. But you- *mimics V and looks at him head to toe* I don't think I've read specifically about raven shapeshifters. *gives him a small grin* How about you throw me a bone here?

Viggo: *Laughs a soft and more genuine laugh this time* "I thank you once more for your compliments, my lady. Indeed, knowledge is most possibly the number one priority in this little raven's heart and mind." *Looking to Gertie and examining her face, he gives a soft smile* "Though it was once hard for me to differentiate between one human to another, I now see the ones who exhibit the physical characteristics you humans refer to as beautiful." *Head turning back to look up towards the sky, he gives another soft chuckle* "Indeed, even Hugin and Munin has had their share of the cirque's leftover snack foods... Hm, a spider, you say? Perhaps you speak of Sir Gen? Yes, indeed, there are many creatures who live among us here in the cirque that I have yet to even meet.. Perhaps we can together greet the others someday~" *Giving a soft sigh as Gertie asked him about his species, he slowly turned to look at his two raven companions* "We are called the valravn... The raven of the slain, as they say back in my homeland. I was but a mere raven, just like Hugin and Munin... But once a raven consumes the heart of those slain upon a battlefield, they begin to change... And if the raven consumes the heart of slain royalty..." *He gestures his hand to himself* "This is what becomes of them." He was, obviously, leaving out the large important details of having to consume the hearts of infants and children, but he decided perhaps that would be better to talk about when he knew the girl better.

Gertie: Knowledge is a powerful tool indeed. I can see why you place is so high up on your list of important things. A steady head can also get you out of sticky situations, I should know. *smirks deviously* Oho, your compliments are smoothly given as usual~ *blushes lightly with a wide smile, then turns her head to Hugin and Munin* Did you two enjoy your meals? *unanswered, she lays down, turning her head to the clouds* Haha, no, I haven't met Mr. Gen yet unfortunately. I've been meaning to ask him for mail just to talk to him though. The spider I met was named Piete. She was quite sweet, fitting for her job I suppose, since she runs the candy booth. *turns and smiles* Maybe, sounds like good fun actually! *notes the shift in mood as he talks about his species and her look turns ponderous* Hmm. Indeed, I have never read about someone like you before. I've met some shapeshifters and I can't help but wonder, what's it like to transform in the middle of your life, change from something you've known your whole life? It seems...very unsettling. I don't know. You don't have to answer this if you don't want to but, do you regret it?

Viggo: *A soft and low chuckle escapes his lips* "I merely speak the truth, my lady. You say there is yet another arachnid creature among us? I'm sure this will interest Sir Gen very much! Perhaps you shall meet him soon, for he is the one who delivers the letters and parcels to us members. Though I do not necessarily enjoy indulging in sweets, I still hope to meet this candy seller, Piete. Perhaps you shall introduce me to them?" *Looking back over to Hugin and Munin, he gave a bit of a wry laugh* "I must confess, it was the most confusing experience of my life, but..." *Brows furrowed as he tried to think, he gave a soft sigh and another chuckle, though it sounded somewhat frustrated* "It were as though I had lived my entire life with a curtain over my eyes... Once I gained my knowledge, that curtain wasn't merely pulled away, it vanished. An entirely new world was opened unto me and I savored every moment of it... Perhaps a bit too much." *Shaking his head as he stared up at the clouds with a soft smile, his usually monotone voice had a slight hint of contentment and calm to it* "There are many things I regret, but I would never take back what I have now. It is... The knowledge has become too precious to me." *Eyes shifting over to the girl, he gave a raise of his brows before asking* "Any thing you regret, my lady?"

Gertie: Indeed! I know that being accepted can make anyone feel good inside, but meeting someone who understands is a whole other matter. I guess that's why we look for similarities so much and shun differences. Haha, yes, being a raven before, I guess sweets don't suit your fancy. I, on the other hand, will accept sweets any day. It was rare for me to get them, so now I indulge in them whenever possible! *Looks to the duo with him* Yes, I imagine. Suddenly becoming so aware of everything. *Turns to V* Yeah, culture shock doesn't even cover half of it. *Chuckles* Of course, I think if that happened to me, I'd be scared of having it taken away as fast as it was gained. Just like with the sweets I carry with me now. *pulls out a sugar star and pops it into her mouth, chewing with a thoughtful look to her face* My life wasn't good. I can accept and admit that. But I can't say I regret it. Not at all. It made me suffer, and it made me cry, but it made me who I am, and I like myself. *Looks at him* So much good came out of the bad, so how can I say that I'm sorry, or I wish I could go back? Though before my partner came along, I longed for a friend or a sibling, but now I realize that I'd never wish that kind of life upon them, and in all honesty, it wouldn't have been good for me either. Probably why I want lots of kids in the future. *snickers*
