I could argue that everyone knows what fursonas /really/ exist for: the creation of images containing activities that the commissioner can't experience in reality, often activities that parents generally don't want to try to explain to their kids. As just one example among many, few furry-fans have access to the ropes and ceiling hooks to enjoy the Japanese-originated art of shibari. That is exactly what I use my characters for! Exploring undiscovered places, fighting giant monsters, practicing sustainable off-the-grid agriculture, owning a flying car, you know things that can't happen in reality... because we live in a distopian debt driven slave state.
