There's not much to tell that isn't in the comics. In an emergency, civilians tend to run around in circles screaming, or equally useful activities; so the whole idea here is to get those civvies into a safe, fully-oxygenated environment... whether they want to or not. In this field test, Dee's trying various models - different sizes, some with wings or grippers or other enhancements, to find out which ones work best with real, live people.
Once she's done with the tests, she'll probably put together a model that's just big enough for a single individual, compress it into a box, and sell it as something that can be installed discreetly behind a wall-panel and forgotten... until the fail-safe sensors trigger and activate it. As was mentioned on page 4, one of the tricky parts is getting these new products to link up properly, with each other and with more traditional space-suits, so that rescuees aren't entirely helpless once rescued. But that's an easy enough sort of problem to solve, once it's been identified /as/ a problem.

Having looked at the sketch - I am smiling-out-loud at it. Someone else actually being inspired to build off of one of my ideas is one of my most favorite things.
