I'm one who avoid backgrounds as well, so I definitely need to keep practicing with them. As my teacher always says "Draw things you're bad at drawing, not things you're good at!" I, myself, need to live by that more!

Really nice pen work on the tree and nice job with the shading again. I don't know why, but the mushrooms remind me of Earth. Like space mushrooms.....
