Skipper is a very quiet recruit who is easily intimated by those around him. He has issues standing up to those around him and can often be a bit of a doormat, finding it hard to say no to just about anyone. He's more of a pacifist than a fighter and often wonders what his role in the Hideout will be. While Skipper is a very skilled swimmer, he still hasn't found his 'land legs' so to speak as he is much more used to life on a rocking boat than one in an underground base. This has made Skipper a bit clumsy and resulted in more than a few mishaps his first few weeks at his new home. Despite everything, Skipper has an optimistic outlook on life, and tries to find the silver lining in everything.

● Much like a regular Charmander, Skipper's life force is tied to his tail. However instead of a flame going out Skipper has to worry about his water bubble evaporating. This means hot, sunny days can be a no-go for this recruit!
● Skipper's skin needs to be kept moist, much like an amphibians. If he gets too dry his skin is likely to crack and peel.

Skipper was created in a lab for a project aiming to swap pokemon types. His egg was injected with the DNA of several water starters in hopes that one of them would stick, and luckily it did! Skipper hatched as a pure water type Charmander, with body modifications to match his new typing. After being raised in the lab for several months, he was deemed stable and healthy, and was moved out to be sold on the market along with others like him. Skipper was bought by a talented sailor, who ran his own shipping and transport company between the regions and was given his own little uniform to match those working on the ship. Skipper loved his new life and his new owner, often swimming alongside the ship and helping passing pokemon move out of the way of their course.
Things were going well for the little mon until tragedy struck, and his ship was raided by pirates. Despite the crews best efforts, they were defeated and their boat was sunk. During the chaos of the battle, Skipper was injured and fell overboard, getting caught up in the boats propeller and earning a mass of scars all across his body. Skipper was fished out of the wreckage by pirates who recognized his value as a type-swap and was sold on the black market to Team Rocket. After obtaining the young Charmander, Team Rocket transferred him to Rocket Hideout in the Sinnoh region to give him time to heal and grow into a strong fighter. While Skipper has no desire to fight, he still wants to do his best for his new group and find a way to be useful again.
