... now it's kind of hard getting it down, the beginning I mean. Should I start with Mike already being there and then explain why or hint at it, or have him show up?
I want it so that only Donnie can see him, though. :3

Hmm.. maybe he was always beside Donnie since that day when Don returned, but Mike couldn't/didn't show himself, until Donnie gets into some mortal danger. Maybe it's a rule that angels shouldn't show themselves, but Mike breaks that rule to save Donnie.. and of course only Don can see him, and not the others.

Though I don't think he should be a guardian 'angel'... maybe every being that is close to death very often has a protector, a spirit of someone related or a close friend?
And the only reason Donnie is able to see Mike is because Mike is from a future that hopefully never will become reality? ^^
