I don't get it.
So people are afraid of being watch yet people can go to Facebook, type their names and see what they're doing but when the government does it it's an attack on privacy.
I'm either not grasping the correct concept or people nowadays are just plain stupid(or you know, government is choosing the wrong options either way)

Indeed it was not. In these past 14 years, I fear the GOP has become Orwell's INGSOC Party, where truth with them is inconsistent, they change positions on the issues and geopolitical allies and enemies. FOX NEWS is their Ministry of Truth. They call for ceaselessΒ war. The people are manipulated by them into voting Β against their interests. They seem to have no other objective than the pursuit of power. It's frightening!

Not only in Italy but in Hungary as well. Just like everywhere else, I suppose. I can agree with the quote and as far as I remember the book... it feels like we're heading that direction. And we shouldn't. Maybe that's why that those ones who sees the world as it is are sad and disappointed in life/humanity. :-/ But I really hope I'm only too pessimist and not right.

Britain now has the most under surveillance population in the word. Crime has increased dramatically whilst convictions has lowered since the rise of CCTV.
