And that is true! I only started taking it seriously this past year. I don't consider what I used to do 'art', really, as all I did was draw Mary Sues with classmates and friends. LOL. I didn't use construction lines, references, perspective... no real artistic techniques. I just slapped things onto the page. :>

I know how you feel, I used to beat myself over for not really growing as an artist. I thought being a cartoonist was what I wanted. Now though, drawing is just gonna stay a hobby, and that's okay with me C: No regrets!
Gosh that dress is cute.

Such is life! So long as you're happy, everything will pan out fine in the end.
Hehe, I do like my orange dress. <3

Oh honey, if there's anything I've learned it's that we're never alone where peer pressure experiences are concerned. :> Contrary to yours, all my high school art friends were fellow Asian weaboo who favoured certain manga styles. Some were awful talented for their ages, too!
/hugs
You should be proud of how far you've come, if not as an artist then as a human being. We all fall on our faces. Life's a learning experience, and the creative life moreso. Keep on truckin'!

LOL Ahh aren't you cute all the way up until now. e u e This is all very interesting~ You've had quite the bit of artistic roller coaster ride going on. LOL
I'm glad you didn't decide to give up~ From all I see now, that was an awesome decision to not quit. > u <)9 <333

Not so much a roller coaster as a leisurely ride that broke down and stalled once every few metres. LOL.

Can't argue with that!
I believe every tween nerdling of the late 90s went through a weaboo phase. So long as one matures past these phases, they're nothing to be ashamed of! It's all part of growing up. I don't know a single artist (beyond them child prodigies, 'course) who didn't have a boatload of Mary Sues and kawaii-desu fancharacters in their early teens. I think it's important for people, artists and otherwise, to be able to look back at their younger selves and fondly say, "I was such a child then."
To warp a line from a certain boyband of our era: It doesn't matter who you are, where you're from, or what you did, so long as you're learning.
Oh, and regarding facial variety, I'm still not sure how to change 'em up without losing the squishy charm I'm striving for. I'll figure it out eventually!

I wasn't exactly weeaboo, but I had a few Sues here and there. And yeah, you hit the nail on the head there.
You want me to link a few tutorials about that sorta thing? Might be of some help!

The description says '20 and onwards'. ;> I could be anywhere between 20-25, really!
Of course, one could argue the 20s in general aren't old, but time is of the essence...
